Obviously I have. Where have they been outcoaches, specifically? "Sloppy rugby" "Basic errors" "poor decisions" doesn't really mean anything.

Leinster are incredibly sloppy for a supposedly elite team. There's just not the necessary clarity and accuracy in their play. It's no wonder it all unravels when the pressure comes on. Leinster play like Lancaster's England, and they never had the precision to win anything.

So random question... anyone know of a bar in Kyoto, Japan showing the match?

You might say there isn't necessary clarity and and accuracy in RichieRich's posts.

It's across the board really. Being brilliant technically in everything they do just doesn't seem to be a feature of this Leinster team. Passing, running lines, cleanouts, mauling, lineout, maul defence are a bit all over the place and liable to go haywire. At the breakdown, they look to protect the ball with weight of numbers. Body positions often aren't great. It's not tight and controlled and technically sound. That's the picture I'm getting anyway

Specifically on the rucking side of things, wasn't there some rule change so that attacking players not bound to the ruck, that get in the way of a defending player trying to block a kick are deemed offside? I vaguely remember hearing this on some podcast, which might go to explain why more numbers are hitting rucks on occasion, to lengthen the ruck and give the 9 more time for the kick. In any case, that's just a small aside.

Can't remember if it was this thread or not but someone on the forum asked about bringing bags into Lansdowne, they are not allowed, as per an email from Leinster there.

It's official Barry Daly is faster than Zebo.

    Discuss.

Curious to see how the scrums fare on Saturday, Munster scrum has been quite dominant thus far this season, wonder will it continue

If it does serious questions have to be asked.

Can't see it happening myself, but we've been strong up to now. Will be a good test. Won't happen but I'd love to see young O'Connor start in the front row.

Meant to say, I'd hope Munster will be targeting the Leinster 12-13 axis, get Farrell steaming down those channels

What sort of docile, amicable shíte is this? You realise this is a build up thread??

Allow me to convert your post to the appropriate format:

Looking forward to hearing all about Toner's ruck stats on here after the game! What a hero. trolololololololo

It's a bit disingenuous to use Bolt's average speed when he ran 9.58 as a comparison if they're talking about top speed

John Hayes said it's all good while I was chatting to him earlier. Also mentioned he personally ranks props in the following order Furlong > Ross > Buckley > himself. Thought it was very honest of him personally.

Comparing Daly's top speed of 10.5m/s to Bolt's top speed of 12.27m/s when running 9.58s you come up with a time of 11.19s for 100m (I think). That's pretty good. It's similar to Hickie's 11.20 on the track. Maybe Daly would be faster on a track, although if he doesn't have Bolt's speed endurance, only using top speeds to compare might give an inflated idea of what Daly is capable of.

Did Hickie only run an 11.2?

Not to be picky but was that hand timed or electronic?

It was into a strong headwind, and before his later aero assistance.

He ran 11.19 in the All Ireland Schools 100m, be surprised if he never clocked faster than that in his 20s

Oh he for sure did in a proper training setup.

11.20 is not particularly fast even for a non sprinter. I'd have thought most of the back 3 lads in Ireland should have the conditioning for sub 11 but then again they've a lot more jobs aside from being fast so who knows.

Anything close to 11 would be fast for a rugby player. Zebo claims to have been timed running 11.1. There's a video of some Aussie rugby players including Jarryd Hayne and Lachlan Turner racing 100m on a track https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kc-e129SBb4

That was very interesting actually, thanks. First semi-accurate time comparison setup I've seen. Don't know how this would compare to the top lads in the NH but overall my takeaway from this is that pro rugby players are a LOT slower than I thought.

Who do we reckon will start at 10 for Munster, Keatley or Bleyendaal?

If Keatley starts and goes well he'll definitely be putting his hand up to be part of the AI squad I reckon.

Dunno, but it should be Hanrahan. Ronan O'Gara talking on The Hard Yards about Hanrahan: "I think JJ is a guy that has the capacity to excel at international level. That's probably a big statement but I think his game would stand up at Test level, and could excel. "What he doesn't need to be doing - because he's a great sub too, and can cover 10, 12, 15 - is if he becomes a utility bench man, it's going to really hinder his chances to try to challenge for the number two spot [behind Johnny Sexton] in the Irish team." Pretty much exactly what I was saying earlier
