I don't play so it doesn't bother me, but i'm curious in that whenever you hear of a Lotto win, it mentions a shop / location.

Is it that they just don't advertise if a winning ticket was bought online? Or it just never happens? :pac:

I play regularly online and feel exactly the same. I often get a mail saying "great news you've won a prize" to find an additional €5 in my account.

I assume if it's a big win you would also be automatically notified

Won 144 online once and got a crisp lotto cheque in the post

Walked into AIB like a boss  the young lad directed me out of the queue and to lodge it self service so I didn’t get to flash my cheque around :(

I've never heard of the jackpot being won by an online player.

    From the lotto website :

Since the National Lottery launched its Play Online service in May 2009, online players have won a total of over €47 million, including 19 jackpot prizes in National Lottery draw based games. The largest online win came in February 2010 when a syndicate from Co. Dublin won the Lotto jackpot of €5,513,556
