If property let to a CC,is it exempt from PRTB reg?

As the title suggests, is property let to a county council exempt from registering with the RTB??

On their website it says any property let by or to a public authority is exempt..

What I'm asking is a county council a public authority??

Any help is welcome

If you're talking about RAS, then no you still have to register with the RTB. What scheme are you referring to?

What dwellings are exempt from registration with the RTB?
The registration of some tenancies in certain dwellings (a “dwelling” means, a property let for rent or valuable consideration as a self-contained residential unit and includes any building or part of a building used as a dwelling and any out office, yard, garden) is exempt
(a) a dwelling that is used wholly or partly for the purpose of carrying on a business (the exemption does not apply to a dwelling that is for example above a retail unit)
(b) a dwelling to which Part II of the Housing (Private Rented Dwellings) Act 1982 applies,
(c) a dwelling let by or to— (i) a public authority,

So is a county council a public authority??

So is a county council a public authority??

So what I take from this is that if you rent a property to a county council you are exempt from paying fees to the prtb.

Is there a specific scheme you're referring to? Most of them such as RAS are set up in a way that the council don't rent the property, they're just the intermediary to supply a social tenant and all requirements of the RTA including RTB registration and other landlord obligations are still in force.
