    Hiya,
We are looking to get a new car FINALLY. Want a compact SUV and have narrowed it down to Qashqai v HRV v Mitsubishi Asx.
Anyone with any advise for which would to go for?
Will be a family car and we do not travel far at all so in and around the city centre. Ive heard good and bad about the Qashqai but I think I like this the best. Completely open to any opinions though.

He ASX is a relic so you should rule that out unless it's way cheaper.

What about the Toyota CHR or Mazda CX-3?

The nissan is a junk bucket... Renault engine a lot of turbo problems and the wiper motors are prone to burning out. As above the Toyota would be a good choice as would the Honda imo

Def. it was outdated when it was launched. I like the HRV but they're not cheap.
Qashqai is a huge seller and they often do good deals to get people into them.

Biggest seller in that segment is the Tucson, it should be on your shortlist

Of those you have mentioned the Qashqai would be the best choice by far. The latest model is available with a 1.2 litre turbo petrol engine with 100 b.h.p. They are very well designed, stylish and reliable cars hence their popularity.

I like the Mazda too. Other half in love with the CHR - I think its an awful looking thing. Heading out to a few garages on Saturday. Ive heard good and bad about the Qashqai... its very hard to make a decision.

Qashqai would be a little bigger than the likes of a HRV or CHR. The Juke is more in the same class as the HRV, etc.

The Kia Niro hybrid should be considered too. Not as big as a washqai. More similar to the ASX in size.

There is a glut of new compact crossovers hitting the market in the next few months:

    Nissan Juke,
    Seat Arona,
    Hyundai Kona,
    Kia Stonic.

That 1.5 dci Renault engine doesn't give a lot of turbo problems. As long as I've been in a Renault dealer which is years I've only seen two turbos being changed. As far as I know the wiper motor is Nissan made along with all the electrics. Only seen a hand full give trouble.

I think the HRV is a nice SUV they seem like good quality. Found the radio abit complicated. Aren't they quite expensive tho?

The new ASX does look a lot better IMHO.

Volvo have an xc40 coming out shortly. Might be worth a look too.

It's just a facelift though. It still feels like something designed in the early 2000s.
