Hyundai i40 - would warranty be void?

    Hi folks,

Recently had a 60k miles service for i40.

Main dealer, so a few things came up in the analysis.

I was wondering whether, in order to keep the 5 year warranty (its a 142), would I have to fix the issues with the main dealer?

There's a concern (coloured amber, so not immediate) about the brake discs - cost was €380, steering tracking another €80....altogether they were recommending jobs done to the tune of about €650.

I could get some of them done for cheaper with my own mechanic...would that void the warranty?

No it won't good the warranty once you have receipts for the work and it's carried out by a VAT registered garage.

Main dealer servicing for Hyundai is not cheap at times. Why did you not take it to your mechanic for the service too?

I didn't take it to my mechanic as I thought that not doing so would, again, void the warranty.

Yeah it was pricey, €300 for the service.

It wont void the warranty, ensure your mechanic uses Hyundai parts and ask for a copy of his docket for your records to prove genuine oarts were always used.
