Looking at plugs for a 02 Yaris, I see prices vary from €5 for Beru/Denso to €25 each for NGK!

Is it safe enough to go for the cheaper option?

This is for an old car so if the Beru last 3-4 years that's OK.

As long as the plugs are within spec* for your car you can safely use the cheapest option.
Easiest is to go to a motor factors or Halfords and ask/look in their catalogs.

*not all plugs will be ok for all cars. There are several things to consider like gap etc

The cheap plugs will be copper with a life of about 10k miles, the 25 ones will be iridium with a life of 50-70k miles

I've always gotten NGK iridium plugs for my Yaris (1999 1.0) from the motor factors for about €25 all in!

Went with Bosch at around €4.00 each, will make a note to change them every couple of years.

performance wise copper plugs are actually a little better but the iridium plugs have the advantage of 7-10x the lifespan
