Is mobile hotspotting safe?

When I use my phone as a hotspot to steam Netflix on my Xbox the phone heats up like a mother f##ker.

This can't be good, right?

Anything that heats your phone up for extended periods of time won't be good for the long term battery life of your device. Just use broadband.
