Fictional, I know, but you can get really attached to your favourite characters!

Fair warning, there will be spoilers ahead.

I have just finished reading the Dark Tower series by Stephen King.

    The death of
    Oy the Billy Bumbler
    has me so upset!

I finished the book Sunday and i'm still thinking of it. I understand some characters have to die off, but the way of his death was so unnecessary.
    Such a cool character.

I'm just gonna pretend it didn't happen :pac:

Can be any fictional character, TV, movies or books.

The wee lad in My Girl when he got stung by all the bees :(

Edward Malus in The Wicker Man, when he got all stung by the bees.

Think it moved everyone to tears...of laughter...

Otherwise, the main characters in Blackadder, in a different version of "going over the top".

    Nana Royle.

    Fry's dog Seymour.

    Poussey in OITNB.

Brooks in Shawshank. Gave me a new appreciation of my grandparents and elderly people in general.

If I'm lucky enough I'll grow old and be exactly where they are now and the year 2017 will be talked about like it's ancient history.

It should be, but I think it was such an obvious story development that it didn't have the impact it could have.

Certainly impacted me! I don't ever remember crying while reading a book before. I think it was the way it happened, the conflicting emotions and trauma. Heartbreaking.
