    Hi all,
I am currently building at the moment and am just sorting stoves and tiles etc. In the Kitchen, there will be a stand alone Standley Ardmore stove with a flue running straight up. I have seen surrounds and mantels etc but quite like the idea of sitting the stove on a kerb and having the back wall the same as every other in the kitchen. I.e no break in the painted wall.
My question is if a high temperature plasterboard can be placed on the concrete wall, skimmed over and painted as any other wall in the kitchen?
I have included the product I have researched on.
    Thanks all

Promat also do such a board. If your going this way , follow the install details carefully, as most boards like this need support or they will crack. In my experience they should not have a cavity behind them, which is difficult to avoid.

What about an opposing chimney brest sat behind it? I.e stove sits in kitchen with exposed flu line but on the other side lies a chimney Brest with insert stove.
