    Bump.....

    Bump.....
Any reason not to buy the Mavic with US plug for $909 with so many 5% vouchers knocking around rather than the EU version for $899 per the OP?

    Anyone?

Its the same hardware the world over (the figure8 power lead just needs be swopped with an Irish one)

But at the very least you could easily run into the customs issues the poster just above has had with his batteries. You may also have warranty issues.

Could also be a scam - post these discount links you have found and we can have a look...

What's your opinion on this 'Suckit'? Do Tomtop show evidence that they've paid the duty anywhere?

Nope. Tomtop do not cover customs, They will only pay the tariffs for the items that say so in the description, or if item is ordered from EU warehouse then there will be nothing extra to pay.

For example, if it does NOT say this directly under the product title, then expect to pay customs on items that are over roughly €28 delivered.
we will pay tariffs in advance when the [PRODUCT TITLE] ship to Europe. But Need 7-15 days delivery / we will dispatch the proper plug according to your address

Alternatively, if you have ordered from any of these, you will also not be expected to pay any extra fees.

    https://www.tomtop.com/storage/de/
    https://www.tomtop.com/storage/fr/
    https://www.tomtop.com/storage/it/

It is the same on all International stores. Unless they specifically say that they will pay the fees on the item, or unless it is shipped from in the EU, you should calculate the fees + handling and expect to pay them when it arrives.

Nope, no reason at all. It was probably not a better option when the OP was posted. If US or EU plug is cheaper go for it, the plug can easily be swapped for a UK/Irish one.

I had the same when ordering a battery from banggood. Its a really annoying slow process.

It arrives in Ireland, says sent to customs for 3 days. Then you'll get a letter in the post asking you for the PayPal receipt or invoice from the seller.
You then have to send an email to the customs officer with the reference and evidence. Three days later the postman will arrive, asking for money.

There's a 10 euro service charge, plus any VAT. There is also import duty once it goes over a certain value(150e, I think)

So on a 70euro battery, while trying to save, I had to fork out nearly 30 quid in charges.

    Good luck..

My An Post status was "ITEM RECEIVED" then was "ITEM SENT TO CUSTOMS" and has now switched back to "ITEM RECEIVED" so fingers cross. Although the timestamps haven't changed so maybe the website is reporting the status wrong.

I wish I had looked into this closer before buying because if I do have to pay customs and the related charges, it's going to end up more expensive than if I got the batteries from amazon. Also a hell of a lot more time and headaches. Ah well.

You can always check in with an Post and they can give you a ref number to check with customs, I had to do this as the letter out o=got lost in the post haha

Hey, how long did it generally take from when you ordered to shipment > to getting to Ireland.
I ordered a few days ago and it has not been shipped yet. I know it can take a while, just curious. Thanks

I ordered 2017-08-23 and got it today. So looks like 2 weeks in total from the order date.

Noticed loads of smoke billowing up nearby last night so threw up the drone and got ready to call 999...

Apparently we could get a glimpse of the northern lights this weekend if the clouds stay off - massive drone potential

Banggood are doing the Spark Flymore Combo for 514 Euros...

    (€685.84 - 25%)

Definitely the full combo kit (Version: RTF). The coupon was in the "My Coupons" page.

There may however be customs payable on this.

Is Tomtop not the best site to buy these drones from, considering that they pay customs in advance?

Yes - I would say so - postage is slower too - but just posting a possibly cheaper alternative if you are feeling lucky...
Also - its 33% off the Mavic Pro drones there also..

That's a deadly drone for the money.

Check out the numerous videos posted by tedpan on this and other threads. That's basically phantom quality for a fraction of the price.

Tomtop do not cover customs, as per the above.

I'd avoid banggood completely, one order, 30e additional charges on a 70e item.

My drone will be coming today :) Anywhere scenic close to Cork city to fly it? I was thinking of maybe taking it to Ballycotton and giving it a spin around the lighthouse/islands.

So €514 on Banggood vs €601 on Tomtop. It all depends on whether it'll be caught by customs from banggood, my guess is it will be more often than not. Anyone know how much customs and charges will be added to the €514 cost?

I'm tempted by the XIAOMI 4K though, the price is fantastic. The size might be an issue for me though.

There will be significant customs charges if caught(maybe 200e). Most of the guys have used tomtop on this thread and have been fine. Does the 601e include cash back?

No, the 601 is the EUR price on the Tomtop sie before case back and whatever USD exchange rate tricks you can pull.

have had no chance to yet to get started with the dji 3 se.

few things, the app keeps crashing on my samsung s8+ , so i installed it on an old nexus 10 tablet i had. but the app seems to run slow on this. will the picture be off when i eventually try and fly it ?

the propellers , I just hand tightened them , using the included tool. not too much in case of damaging it. it seems locked in place. is this all i have to do ?

No - Video feed should stay on.

Yes - The tool is for getting them off - but really not needed even then - you only need very lightly tighten them as the motors spin in a direction as to tighten themselves.
Obviously there are two types of props - dont rush and mix them up or the plastic prop threads are easily damaged by the metal motor.
