The 06 CL has two owners from new.

    Love the '140 coupe.

That 06 CL is cheap, really cheap. Incredible car to drive and surprisingly frugal

The 06 cl. Gorgeous car. But 0-100 takes 6.3... I thought it would be faster, it has a 5L engine

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 397 ✭✭polan

    it's only a 306hp V8 though, they've used that engine since the 90s

    2007 Citroen C6 2.2 HDI V6 EXCLUSIVE
    €4,850
    Its only a 2.2.
    Does it count?

If any, the 2.2 HDI is the one to get. 2.7 and 3.0 HDI are armed grenades...

You're thinking of the M119 V8 used in the SL and S class until 1999 after which the M113 was used and is in the C215 CL.

The M113 is almost 30bhp less than the M119 but is considerably more economical. While it's 0-60 time isn't impressive as it's almost 2 tons, it's certainly not a slow car

Weren't they the same PSA engine from the range rover and jag Stype?
Maybe they were different in a transverse application but I've never seen any issues in an S Type before.

It must be a recent problem because that was for sale a few weeks ago for something north of 8K.. I would buy it only we have too much expense this year..

I should have posted it in the fixer upper thread.

Can't tell from the phone but it looks to me that it's been in water? Maybe a victim of the recent floods?

For around a grand more I think I'd save myself the headache and buy this..

And a grand extra on the tax bill each year.
That 08 was worth swapping an engine into for the tax benefits alone. If it was a flooded car, it was worthless.

I quite like the way this ad is presented:
    https://www.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sale/lexus-gs450h-tax-oct-2017-nct-sep-2018/16456327

'07 GS450h looks like the owner keeps it pretty clean and they mention claying the car so they're familiar with proper detailing methods. Little bit of tax is always nice on a machine like this too.

If the road tax wasn't half the price of the car I'd jump on this!

The tax being half the price of the car is the main reason the asking price is only twice the price of the tax. ;)

He only owns is since 27/07/2017 and mentions needing to downsize as he is getting a newer mortgage, I suppose could be legit but selling a car after owning it for less than 6 weeks would be a tad strange. Otherwise looks a good deal, I checked insurance for it, mine would go up about 35% for it, taking me over a grand.

Vehicle transaction enquiry on motortax.ie, handy when looking at cars to know if the car changed hands recently...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,516 ✭✭✭✭Blazer

possibly sold already and just hasn't updated the ad?
hmm./.so tempted to ring and find out.

actually ad only 1 day old...very suspicious alright.

It could just be the family wagon too, to be fair.

Yeah to be fair it states the same reason for sale and it might be a case of downgrading from two cars to one.

I saw a similar car in Blackrock a few weeks ago, could possibly be this one? (I've deleted pictures from phone, don't have advert saved). Chap was selling it on behalf of an estate/executor sale, was nice black 450h like that, same interior, mileage around the 100k I think; ful service history. Seller didn't seem keen to sell (got impression he was happy having the car to drive around in!). I saw it with a CEL on, googled the dash-message and it could have meant anything from a dodgy seal on the petrol cap to traction control issues.

I'd have gone back for another look even with the CEL, but ad was taken down 1 day later (maybe sold).

Whether or not this is same car, if this looks good otherwise, it could be worth investigating even if it did turn out to have a fault (would price the repair and make a call then). They're lovely machines if you can stomach the tax.

The ad provides the reassurance that "The hybrid system (HV battery pack) continues to be fully warranted once the Lexus Hybrid Health Check is carried out every calendar year."

What he doesn't mention is that the warranty is valid only until the 10th anniversary of the day of first registration, so probably less than a month to go. I would have been interested but this misleading claim leads me to wonder if he's being less than truthful with the rest of the ad.

That GS is 100% the guy selling it is a genuine seller.
