Single Farm Payment and buying land to plant

    Quick question. Hopefully:)

    I'm thinking of buying a wee bit of land to plant but I'm not sure on this exact rule.

    So does this mean that it just has to have been declared and paid on someone's, anyone's application in 2008, or does it have to be my 2008 application?

    I'm not 100% on this but I'd say that the owner would need to be still drawing down entitlements on that plot of land.

    Pre-2008 you couldn't activate entitlements on a plot of land if you planted forestry on it. From 2008 onwards, if you had previously activated entitlements on that plot, then you could plant it and still draw down entitlements from it.

    That's my understanding of the change anyway.
