Insulating Dormer Bungalow

Existing dormer bungalow, wondering what are best options for insulation.

Cavity insulation - pump walls, seems to offer best value?
External Wall Insulation - render to walls outside. How does this work around windows, doors etc? Expensive?
Attic insulation

Wondering on people's experience with any of these and what they would reccommend

Take of roof install air-tightness membrane, insulate walls and roof externally.

Not joking, that's the best solution

Pumping the cavities is usually the most cost-efficient way of dealing with the walls. If you are doing a big refurb or have a big budget, external wall insulation is the way to go.

Installing additional insulation in the attic is a no brainer but in a dormer bungalow, you will have sloped ceilings as well which you typically can't improve without major work.

It's also well worth looking at airtightness. Old external timber doors are notorious for draughts, try to identify and seal up anywhere else on the external structure which might be causing draughts such as service opes, attic hatches, window seals. Consider replacing open fireplaces with stoves but ensure that there is sufficient controllable room vents in the house
