Are they any use? Do they fit any saddle (I've a fizik)?
If they're worth getting, can someone recommend me one to get please?

Are they any good? Well no, I wouldn't be expecting to remain dry, but if it's very wet out it does stop that annoying constant stream of water getting fired directly at your chamois.

I must disagree fully agree with Idleater. If there's water on the road your ass will get wet very quickly without a mudguard or an asssaver. If you have one, your ass stays away from the spray coming from the rear wheel.
Then you have other problems, like wet feet, legs... and the dirt that gets accumulated in the saddlebag instead.

I'm a big ass saver fan. As mentioned, they stop that horrible, cold steam of water flowing into the top of your chamois. That's the worst thing about cycling in the wet imo. That hideous cold stream hitting just above the chamois and below the jersey *shudder*
The best I've used are a German brand, can't remember the name, got it in fitzcycles. The actual assavers are shorter.
They're tricky enough to fit on an adamo* (made worse when your club mates pull it sideways!)
I use them on the road bike and take it on and off the track bike for getting to and from track and they're grand to pop on and off.

Well, I love it. I have the original branded AssSavers but the longer size and I used to have it permanently attached to my bike

No problemo, if it's any use, I was going to go back and edit that exact part to something a bit less harsh, but said in comparison to full mudguards there is no comparison.

I use the AssSavers on any of my non-full mudguarded bikes, but I wouldn't even consider them as protection for even popping to the shops on a wet day.

I usually stick one on if there's a chance of rain and I'm going on a long spin, doesn't stop you from getting wet but it stops your chamois from getting absolutely sodden and keeps road grit and that out of it.

I don't think they will work with Fizik saddles IF you are using one of their clip in saddle pouches.

If you are doing any club spins, they won't be acceptable for winter rides.

Really depends on how much clearance you have under the brake fitting point. I think a min of 5mm is recommended.Worked ok on my Giant Defy but tighter on the current VN Ventus. The curve of the mudguard covers 25 tyres with no problem.
There have been other threads here on this if you do a search. Funny how there are two threads running here on mudguards and it's only August. Global warming or just an Irish summer?
