Overhead garage door remote

    Hi, we have just installed two overhead garage doors we brought in from America but remotes won't work. Installing guy said to do with frequency. Any ideas?

    The installation guy should really be able to do this blindfolded if that's what he does for a living.
    Type the make a model of the garage door opener into google followed by user manual and download the user manual. Might be a good idea to put new batteries in the remote control. It. Should just be a matter of removing the cover of the opener, pressing a button on the circuit board inside and pressing a button on the remote control to pair the two of them together.

    he said because they were american motors and not irish that was our problem and it had something to do with interference of frequencies?

    If the remotes came with the motors then they should work no matter what country you are in.
    The only difference is the Americans use 110 volt 60Hz where we use 220 volt 50Hz, if this was an issue with the motors they would not work at all. As previous poster said you may need to find manual yourself and investigate further.
