I read the following on pgatour.com. So on 3 of last 4 years the person in 123rd woiuld have still made it even when missing the cut.
Obviously with it being so tight he isnt going to want to be in situation of sitting at home watching on Sunday.

The top 125 players in the FedExCup Standings will advance to the FedExCup Playoffs. For everyone else, their 2016-17 PGA TOUR season will end.

No surprise that players hovering around that 125 cutline make up the bulk of this week’s field at Sedgefield. Every player ranked between 112 to 125 is playing. Meanwhile, 40 of the 42 players immediately outside the bubble also are in the field. The only exceptions are Michael Thompson (144) and Jim Furyk (156).

While it’s likely that some players will move inside the 125 this week, there’s no guarantee. In 2013, no players were able to bust the bubble, and in 2014, only one did so. But five players burst the 125 bubble in 2015, with three of those (Camilo Villegas, Wyndham winner Davis Love III and Jason Gore) advancing to the second FedExCup Playoffs event.

A year ago, Kyle Stanley and Shawn Stefani moved inside the Top 125 at Wyndham.

What I wrote above is BS as obvsiouly even if only one person dropped out of the current top 125 it could still be Power as the 2 guys below him could pass him out too.

He is teeing off at 8.50 local time tomorrow.

Pga tour has a likely needed finish scenario for each player to be in the 125. Predicting Seamus needs a top 65 this week. Lowry a top 9 finish

So making the cut would nearly be enough for Power.

They are predicting that it should be but a top 50 would certainly do it . I think Harrington needs a top 2 but he has a medical extension to play on next year or career earnings

Before teeing off he had slipped to 127, birdies the 1st, projected 118!

Birdie on the second moves him to 111 in projected rankings

Great start . Won't get a proper reflection of the rankings till every player has completed a hole. Course looks to be playing easy so could be one of those weeks where the cut is 3 or 4 under

He's really gotten into the groove on the PGA tour these last few months. If he does keep his card I think we will see a big year next year for him

Great to birdie last to get back to -3.
Will probably be about 45th at end of today and 75th by time he tees off tomorrow.

Will need to play well each day, good 3 under 67 in first round for tied 34th place but his Fed Ex Cup points projected at 128 (a disimprovement of 5 places)

It such a pressured week for these guys.
Even though he is T34 as you say he is not predicted to pass anyone out and Every, Saunders, Varner and Flores projected to pass him.
Obviously will know a lot more by time he tees off and he is in the second last flight tonight.

Varner and Flores are on the course already. Hopefully both will have a bad day.

Steady first 9 today -2 for total of -5 (tied 34th), 126 in Fed Ex , just outside the magic 125 needed

Seamus in big trouble here. Needs a par on the last to make the cut . 3 bogeys in the last 4 holes

3 putt bogey on his 17th and if he doesn't par the last or better looks like he's done.

Actually 3 in 5, with a birdie thrown in, but definitely squeaky bum time. Fingers (and pretty much everything else) crossed!

Made the par . That was tight

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 269 ✭✭Eaglebridie 32

Just made it, at least it's in his own hands now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,874 ✭✭✭abff

Bit of a shaky finish, but hopefully he'll push on from here.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,898 ✭✭✭✭fullstop

    Could there be MDF tomorrow?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,823 ✭✭✭✭First Up

    Definitely

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,599 ✭✭✭matthew8

2 under on the front 9 but 5 over on the last 5 holes back to even par for the tournament, looks like he'll be relying on meltdowns from those above him to keep his card.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 402 ✭✭rooney30

Finished on +1 after a round of 4 over . He will be really disappointed with that , presssure must be unreal , obviously affected him . Looks pretty certain to lose his card now unfortunately
