Can you explain please, I looking for one hikvision IP camera, I've a 1tb nas that I bought for music but never used.

Can I just plug cat5 cable into a virgin media horizon box.

No the horizon box wouldn't recognise the IP camera you need to connect it to a HIK Vision NVR to get the IP camera to work.

If you get a network Ip cam you could use the old nas for storage

If you can setup port forwarding on router/ horizon box
It can be viewable via the iVMS-4500 app
