lol. If he wasn't knocked down...... well then how the hell could he be getting up??

Because when someone grabs your head and pulls you off balance and you fall down, you have to get back up... Are you high?

A lot of respected people will change their minds when they see the stills that show Conor's hand wrapped around his pulling him down and if they don't they're idiots, or groupies.

Kenny Florian is not an appeal to authority but the way, he's a moron.

Maybe it's not everyone else who's the idiot. What's that poker saying, if you can't spot the sucker at the table then it's you?

Paulie had said last week that Conor pushed him over in frustration because he was getting the better of him. We can agree that was pure lies?

You're seeing what you want to see in that footage but 99.9% of everyone else is saying it's a clear knockdown, and as I said that includes certified boxing refs.

Anyway I'm more impressed with the straight left he landed in the 12th, piston accurate and hurt Paulie, he was on wobbly legs.

    "Pulls you off balance" lmao.

What put him off balance was being punched in the face.

August 27th is going to be hilarious if/when Conor wins, listening to every excuse under the sun from you.

You've a better chance of Michael D Higgins being named Ms Universe than McGregor winning

While we're on the subject of seeing/not seeing certain things.....

Did you spot any Karate stances in ANY of the released footage? (against Paulie or the open workout)...

    Anything at all...?? lol

I see a guy desperately trying to turn himself into a top BOXER over night... And desperate for everyone else to see it and believe it too!

No evidence yet, of the great martial artist changing the face of boxing... just a guy working hard trying to fit into this new role as a BOXER!! ;)

What footage are you watching? When Joe Cortez breaks them, Conor drops into a pretty wide, open stance. Not identical to his MMA stance by any means but closer to that than a traditional boxing stance.

He also carries the same low guard/low hands as in MMA. Look at his left hand after the break, it's low.

Most boxing forums are calling it a knockdown, it's not the cleanest, but it's certainly a knockdown Imo. Paullie denying it is flat out embarrassing.

  • Conor via DQ
    Laughing at Paulie
Delighted for him, got hammered after talking ****e

    Knock down for sure

The other clip of Paulie getting caught with a vicious left is even better

What keeps me watching McGregor is that I always think that this might be the one where he loses (not that I want him to.) It's like watching somebody on a tightrope. You want him to get across but there's tension because he might fall of at any moment.

He's been going out before fights for the last few years, confidently predicting victory. This heightens the stakes, because he's risking embarrassment by being so outspoken. People say, he won't beat this guy, he won't beat a wrestler, he won't beat Jose Aldo, he won't beat a lightweight. The fact that he lost the first Diaz fight doesn't even diminish my interest, because it just proves that he can lose, that there really is something at stake.

Those who say McGregor won't win, is there any part of you that wants to be wrong?

Not seeing that myself... I just see an MMA fighter, who is working very hard to move and throw punches like a BOXER!!

I'm not surprised that you see Karate kid 2.0 though... not surprised in the slightest! :P

What stance is he holding, when he throws punches or hits the bag? I just see a messy novice BOXER...
He also carries the same low guard/low hands as in MMA. Look at his left hand after the break, it's low.

No way...?? He's holding his hands low?

That's ground breaking stuff, right there!!! :P How incredibly revolutionary in this antiquated backwards sport.... I bet all the old-school boxing aficionados, won't have seen that one before!!! :D

I know you guys can be a bit out of touch with reality at the best of times.... But please tell me, you are not attempting to attribute low hands/guard, as some kind of clever innovation that Conor will bring into the boxing world!? lol

Because that would certainly represent a new milestone of delusion, in this crazy circus we're calling a "fight".... :P

The footage does a lot to confirm Paulie is on a pre planned media tour to drum up interest.

This is 100% genuine kncokdown that would be called as such by any referee. All it proves is that Paulie is a whingey little bitch with a big mouth and a bigger ego. It does nothing to negate the fact that Mayweather is going to seriously embarrass Conor on the 26th.

Are you denying that Conor pulled his head down and dragged him? Are you actually claiming it's a knock down?

Him landing a clean straight left in a complete different sequence in later round has nothing to with the push/pull down though.

Paulie looked for a way out

That's a legit knockdown more times than not. Smart from McGregor. You can see his accuracy is definitely there.

People still need to realise the jump from Paulie to Floyd though. It's massive. Paulie is an average boxer who's talked his way into big fights for most of his career. He's now shot to pieces too. Floyd a different animal altogether. Hope this makes the odds shift and Floyd comes shorter.

It's not clean, it's not pretty, but for me I struggle to give that as anything but a knockdown. He was off balance yeah, he was unlikely hurt obviously but to me McGregor scored a knockdown there. Maybe I need to watch it again but that was my take at first glance

That the footage is edited is not a surprise so have to be a little careful but it is what it is. The straight left is obviously a better punch, but then again a straight left us McGregors bread and butter so it's not shocking to see him land a good one.

But no, Dana White and Conor's groupies say it's a knock down so we all have to agree.

Or maybe, just maybe, Conor landed and knocked him, and one person on a forum who so wants this to not be true is refusing to admit it..

    It was a clean knock.

Maybe Conor can actually punch after all..

    Isn't it shocking.

Knocking down Malignaggi with clean punches

    https://twitter.com/danawhite/status/896221204721303553

    .....

Boxing is usually too fast for me to make out what's happening.
Of the 5 (I think) contacts that McGregor makes with Paulie, which one is he claiming is the drag? And at what second in the 10 second clip?

Absolutely........... and although none of the punches before the knockdown were flush, they all grazed him........ and the final left thrown by Conor cllps the back of Paulie's head as he was coming up from ducking and weaving........

It's laughable that's being called a push and/or a drag as if you slow down the footage you can clearly see that it's Paulie that is pushing upwards against Conor's left arm with the back of his neck after Conor swings and clips him.....

There is NO downward motion from Conor at all........... and even if there was, it would still be a knockdown as Paulie doesn't fall down or even backwards, he falls in the other direction, the direction that the punch was swung funny enough..... imagine that.

This is why, right after the spar, Paulie said to Conor in the lock room "No more photos" as he didn't want the public ever knowing that he just hot slapped about by the guy he said he'd easily beat with one arm behind his bark, and whilst wearing a neck brace to hold his chin in place.

I honestly can't believe he went off to media and said all he did about McGregor after that happening, saying he was the biggest dickhead he had ever come across. I suppose if you're a boxing commentator, the last thing you want are images in the papers of a guy pummeling you that has never had so much as a single professional boxing fight before.

Absolutely this. It's all be orchestrated to keep the fight in the headlines and every time it drops out there's something like this released to keep people talking. I still think that McGregor fights Paulie before a Mayweather rematch -there's too much money on the table for it to be one and done.

But if the fight goes the way that most people think...then they're would be no real interest in seeing McGregor fight anyone in a boxing ring again....this fight is selling because if its novelty factor...not because it's a clash of Hagler v Hearns magnitude

Have to say that looks like a fair knockdown to me. It 100% isn't a "push" as Paulie claimed. He looks pretty stupid now.

Then boxing is fcuked if an mma fighter who has never defended a title, been beaten by a fighter the standard of nate diaz, and is beaten easily by floyd mayweather, can pick multi million dollar fights with retired boxers - and this is what people want to see

sorry but if this carries on further than the floyd fight then boxing is fcuked

I would agree that Floyd is a vastly superior boxer to Paullie, but he's also a legitimate top 10 all time boxer.

Whatever you say about Paullie, he's not an average boxer. His boxing ability can't be questioned Imo, it's what carried him his entire career, for a man with no power and pillow fists to be a 2 time world champ is a testament to that.
