Thought the point of these things in this particular promotion would be to show Mayweather having lost a step and to impress people with McGregor to give the impression he may have a shot?

If so it isn't really working out all that well and the talking from Mayweather trying to big up Conor looks more foolish as this goes on.........

Suppose I could be wrong and this could be on the level and this is just where McGregor is at right now, two weeks from the fight but I don't see how that helps sell any undecideds on the notion this is a genuine contest.

But you've also seen him fall apart under the lights, and get his a$$ handed to him... by a very average journeyman like Nate Diaz!

He didn't exactly shine under those lights, when he was doing the chicken dance and getting choked out by some rank average dopey pothead...

I think the pressure might have got to him a bit that night. He told the world, that he would swat Nate Diaz away with ease. But... well... it went quite a bit off track for him that night!

Floyd has never had one of those off colour nights... he's never had such a hugely disappointing under-performance in a big high profile fight.

Conor has never fought in a fight of this magnitude before... you can post about all the UFC fights you want, but not one of them will even come close to the size of this thing. Conor has never been under this level of pressure or scrutiny in his entire life. He has never had this many eyes of the world watching him... and (most importantly)... he has never had a professional boxing match in his life!!

When you add all of that up, it's easy to see how he could potentially bottle it under this kind of pressure. If it can happen in the Diaz fight (within his own sport)... then why not against a superstar like Floyd, in his pro debut boxing match, with a giant world audience waiting patiently to see if he can KO one of boxing's greats!? Or if he's just bluffing, like in the Diaz fights!!

I just get the feeling, that he is going to freeze up, like Bambi in headlights... and it's going to be very uncomfortable for people to watch. And I think Floyd senses this too... he knows that Conor has the occasional dodgy performance in his locker... I think that's one of the main reasons why he took this fight to begin with.

I think Conor's two performances against Diaz, were the main dealmakers for Floyd in terms of accepting this fight. I think he seen enough evidence in both those fights, that Conor can under-perform on a big night under the lights... and that he has significant weaknesses in his game, that can easily be exposed by a top boxer in a boxing ring!!

Conor should probably thank Nate Diaz... if he hadn't made Conor look so bad in those fights, Floyd would likely never have accepted this fight!! Silver linings and all that, eh!? :D

That's some amount of ****e you've spouted there in fairness

I dont say this lightly, and its not a dig because i ****ing love the man and what hes doing in the UFC, but Owen Roddy and JK better have the balls to stop the fight when it needs to be stopped. Because Conor could get seriously injured in there if he does not land a jackpot punch in the first minute.

Indeed, Flloyd is a horrible individual outside of the ring so it's not at all inconceivable he could play with Conor for the full 12 rounds or just really hurt him at will whenever it suits him.

I don't think this should have been licensed.

Better boxers than Conor have gotten battered in the national stadium.

The cries of "great work" and "beautiful, beautiful!" from Rodday et al are actually hilarious but worrying for him at the same time along with "too fast" "too smooth" though I am loving the "easy work" ones :D

There is so much work still to do in this camp, footwork, movements, handspeed, hand position are all so far off where they need to be...........I dunno what I was expecting I suppose, maybe somewhere in my heart I did believe the Irishman had a small chance of knocking out Mayweather if he could get to him early. Though it would be a beautiful sight this open work out has been a reality check to all but the sycophants he has around him surely

Which part did you disagree with...??

Was it the part where I highlighted Conor's under performance on the big stage... against an average journeyman MMA fighter?

Or was it the fact that Floyd is only taking this fight, because he has seen enough in those fights, to know that Conor is a nailed-on certainty to lose to him in a boxing match...??

Conor very disrespectful to boxing........... Floyd playing with him for 12 rounds and Conors eyes nearly swollen closed might have him change the tune a tad.

Yep, but he's only really lacking in cardio and boxing skills...

Other than those two departments, he's totally ready to face Floyd!! :pac:...:pac:...

Conor is in a world of ****. And as for those cheerleaders in his corner, they need to take a serious look at themselves. Absolute gob****es the lot of them "easy work" HAHA easy alright.

What are the different bags he's using? Is he alternating between lighter and heavier, or getting progressively heavier, or something different?

Knocking down Malignaggi with clean punches

Creaming Paulie with a straight left, wobbling him and beating the brakes off him:

"Conor wouldn't land a single punch on a pro boxer retired or otherwise" - 90% of boxing "experts" :pac:

It'd be refreshing for one of you to step up and say "well damn that was a beautiful straight left".

On both of those videos he landed one clean shot.
And it was not a knock down. Conor pulls his head down with his right hand, get literally wrapped his hand around the back of Paulie's neck and pulled him down.

You're seeing what you want to see based on a few seconds of cropped and sliced footage. There are already stills on Twitter showing Conor's hand pulling Paulie down.

    OMG

Conor could knock out Anthony Joshua clean with a left hand and you'd still find a way to twist it into something negative.

Are you denying that Conor pulled his head down and dragged him? Are you actually claiming it's a knock down?

Him landing a clean straight left in a complete different sequence in later round has nothing to with the push/pull down though.

He was clearly caught behind the ear and on the way down when Conor touched the top of his head.

I've seen multiple certified boxing ref's on twitter already say they'd call it a knockdown in a fight and start counting.

36 mins in a boxing match. And we get less than 1 min of total action, against a jet lagged Paulie, to decide if Conor can box??

Not even 1 full round of action to sink our teeth into...??

Some of you fans really are easily pleased, eh?

Sorry if my response wasn't what you guys were hoping for... sorry it wasn't more like this: "I'm a believer"... "Why did I ever doubt the great one!?"... :D

Sorry chaps, I haven't joined the ranks of the converted just yet... I'll need quite a bit more than a few measly seconds, out of a 12 round sparring session!! (I'm just harder to please, unfortunately!) :P

He was already going to the ground before the left is near him, and it was not a hard shot. And because Conor was holding it's not even a legal shot. You're absolutely hell bent on seeing what you want to see.

You think the he's able to take that straight left in the 11th or 12th but a slap in the ear a few rounds before drops him?

Use your brain. He was moving his head, Conor grabbed it, pulled him off balance and he fell, absolutely nothing to do with the slap from the left hat came as he was already going down.

The fact that they cut away from the clip instantly after his arse is on the canvas is strange too, maybe it's because he was already getting up and wasn't actually hurt at all because he wasn't knocked down?

But no, Dana White and Conor's groupies say it's a knock down so we all have to agree.

Incidentally 99% of people on the internet are calling it a knockdown also.

Only the usual suspects are trying to make a case for a push...

Go tell Kenny Florian, Max Holloway, Vinny Magahles and the others they are delusional Conor groupies because that's just a small list of people who say it's a knockdown. I haven't seen a single fighter/ref/boxer say it's a push SO FAR.

Get a grip. Not everyone is a Conor groupie just because they disagree with you.

A lot of respected people will change their minds when they see the stills that show Conor's hand wrapped around his pulling him down and if they don't they're idiots, or groupies.

Kenny Florian is not an appeal to authority but the way, he's a moron.

lol. If he wasn't knocked down...... well then how the hell could he be getting up??
    ...... a jet lagged Paulie

A five hour flight... the day before.... makes him jet lagged??

Didn't know short haul flights were an antidote to the sweet science :D :pac:
