Good Luck all. At least we won't have it hanging over us for much longer.

Surprised myself too... Passed all of them! If anyone finds the PEC report can they send the link please?

Well done to everyone who passed. The flow of Chartered Accountants is back. Up to 2008 we had good pass rates but they nosedived in 2009-2014 and we were hovering in the 55% pass range. A lot of failures. A lot of repeats. A lot of people scraping it. No 79's certainly! The results have got much better. Well done to all!

Thanks for that. I was able to check it out before I left home instead of having to do it on the train.

Passed all exams sat. Can't find the PEC report, has anyone seen it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 360 ✭✭Humour Me

    Congrats on the results everyone.

The PEC report usually doesn't go online until before lunchtime.

Missed SFMA and FR. Fr mainly due to time and SFMA was just a disaster on the day and I just panicked. Any good advice on how to move forward would be much appreciated. Couldn't be more frustrated as couldn't have felt more prepared going into the exams

Congratulations! Just out of interest, did you place with an average of 79?

Is there any benefit to placing?

You placed last year with an average of 75 for cap1? I got an average of 80 last year but never heard anything about being placed!

You had to do all 5 modules

All maybe that was it. I was exempt from Finance but sat all the rest. I moved addresses at the time the results came out. Maybe I did place and was not aware of it. Ah well. Great result by the way.

Congratulations to everyone. :):) I was panicking myself at the time. This year I didn't have the same amount to study as previous years and I was giving up on SFMA at the end, pretty sure I was going to fail and I actually passed them all.
By a thread but all. I couldn't believe it I have checked the website several times to be sure :eek:

If it helps for SFMA what it might have helped me it's that when asked to give advice I threw myself full in and my guess is that that coupled with decent calculations got me through. I don't know what might have helped others. As you can't see the exams and I didn't see any comments on the exams (they say that if you mouse over the score you can see comments  has anyone been able to see anything?)

I just about passed SFMA, thrilled as I spent the majority of study on this. I reckon my calcs were poor on the day and only for my attempt at all the theory I'd say I would have failed easily.

Anyone have any idea when FAE lectures start? Last year I got the previous year's CAP2 timetable online but with the new website the FAE timetables only seem to start at the end of April.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 360 ✭✭Humour Me

FAE started from the middle of October last year, we only received the timetable up to Xmas by late September. The institute were very slow releasing timetables which annoyed some people as they were trying to plan holidays etc.

Anyone repeating SFMA doing the interim? What's the deal with pre-seen material etcc?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6 Galwaygal01

Does anyone know when the enrolment forms for FAE will be out? The results form I received in the post says that I need to enrol on a recognised education course? Does anyone know what they mean by this? My training manager is on annual leave until September and I am worried I will miss the closing to be enrolled.

That's hard luck for sure! The lowest place mark was 80 so you were 4~ marks off placing

I've emailed asking about this (flexible route student), but haven't heard back yet. I had a look on the website and they haven't got this year's enrollment details up yet. I think last year's enrollment deadline was at the end of September. You should be ok.

Is anyone else having trouble trying to enrol for FAE 2017/2018? When I click on the link Formal Registration in the student portal it comes up as an error.

I called them about it on Monday. They said they're still trying to iron out the issues with the new site and to try again in a few days.

Just trying it, and it seems to be working now.

Hi everyone. I know most of you have passed and don't use this thread anymore but I was wondering would anyone have any good advice for SFMA. I felt very prepared going into the exam but I just got completely thrown by the casestudy and that started my downfall. I found some of the questions very vague and had difficulty with several questions being asked within one question. Also what did everyone bring into the exam and I think I probably spent too much time flickign through what I had brought it. Any advice would be appreciated as I just need to pass this exam in october or i am screwed.
