    Hey guys,

Quick question: landing in Dublin airport, driving to cork on Friday. can you rent a car at the airport and drop it off anywhere in cork/cork airport?

what rental companies would you recommend?

    Thanks

Yeah, there are loads of companies who can let you do this. I'd say you'd be better off booking online in advance though, try ebookers which will pull loads of options from different companies for you.

It's short notice so I'd say it'll be dearer than usual and availability will be tight as it's peak season.

lots of buses go most hours of the day direct from Dublin airport to Cork city.

Have you looked into hiring a car from Cork ?

Most rental car companies allow this but will charge a one-way-rental fee. I know it is 25 EUR for Hertz so the others should be similar.

Do book a car in advance online as it will be cheaper even on the same day.

thanks guys. will go with van.bosch's suggestion of ebookers, and go online. works out at about €200. if i was to book a week in advance it would have been €50

Agreed. While there is a gap from 00:30 to 06:00, but there is a huge number of departures - every 30 minutes during the day.

Put your exact locations and relevant dates and times into www.a-b.ie and tweak the settings. Make sure you have selected "Maximum walking time" of X minutes.
