Hard to picture that Sonata clocking up that mileage on an offshore island in fairness.

Fair few laps of Inis Oirr alright!

May not have spend all it's life on an island though. It being automatic though there is probably a higher chance that somebody with a disability owned it.

Timing setup is made of chocolate
    They like to rot
And the fuse boxes front and rear can give all kinds of fun times not really an ideal car to run on a budget

Thirsty like hell and temperamental, especially in the electrical/electronics department. And rust, this is not the finest moment in Mercedes history with W210 and W203 being the worst offenders. The petrol engines have tendency to stretch the chain.

This looks like a face lifted one, they are much better, but still rather bad compared to Toyotas or Hondas in reliability. And this one is manual.... Why the stick?

Why not? With chape tax and no need to bother with NCT, it hits the Irish motoring G-spot.

I've driven similar (but petrol driven) sin carnets in Spain, and I'd rahter take the bus to be honest. Or just get a motorbike.

It's about the cut around. It looks like done with scissors...

It looks like a cheap print. I know the PVC is casting a shadow that looks like an inkjet pattern, but the perforations seem to be missing too.

Even the front bumper looks a bit suspect? or is it just the way the light hits it?

The perforations are there. You can see a bit of it left over on the righthand side of the disc. Anyway the tax is genuine so it doesn't really matter.

I think it's just the way the light is shining on it tbh.

    volvo s40 1.8
    rough and ready
    test till mid April 2018
tax till the end of January 2018
Supposedly driving 100% with 135k miles on the clock
asking €299 originally up for €350 been for sale for a while now
I'd honestly stand in front of him with two €50 notes in my hand and see if he'd refuse maybe 3 if I was feeling generous but nonetheless it's care free rootin for the guts of 9months and comes with very desirable wolfrace alloys :p

Hmmm. I'm pretty keen about that Volvo. Pretty wary of buying anymore cheap cars though after my mazda 6 engine went after buying it 4 days earlier..

As much as you might check, what signs might show? if a head gasket was about to go or was being covered up? it might be the kind of thing that could just go too, same for a timing belt, it might actually just be on the verge of going, be bad luck for both to go and if it was a dealer, Id be expecting to return it and get something else.

Is it not just the light, in some views it looks ok, also maybe it is a repair/spray job, but I have had a few cars repaired where, doors/panels have been damaged by wanker$ who damaged them and them obviously drove/run off, it might be superficial damage if it is.

My bangernomics Avensis died in spectacular style today.
Parked and went to the ATM.
Returned in 10 minutes to find this....

    Did you leave it running?

Of course I didn't leave it running!

    Parked, locked and walked away.
Had just driven 35 miles, no issues at all.

I could smell something burning as I waited at the ATM.
The street was obscured with clouds of smoke, I was wondering who had a chimney fire in the month of August .... then I saw it was my car.
