Not a plumber but it seems straightforward enough, is it best to use some silicone as well or are the seals it come with good enough?
    Thanks

Bin the seal for the top and use silicon instead. Lots of silicone.

And clean off excess before it sets.

Thanks, why bin the seal provided, is silicone that much better?

Should I use plenty of silicone underneath the basin too?

The seal provided all leaks on me. I gave up using it years ago
