Depends on if he takes his beating like a man or not. Any pro boxer has the ability to inflict life threatening damage to a novice. Floyd's not the type to starch a guy with one punch, but a prolonged beating over several rounds is one of the toughest things you can face inside or outside a ring.

Also, I'd rather walk for a limp for a month, hell six months than to take any substantial beating to the head.

The closer to fight night the more I think it'll be an all time classic. Have a feeling that because Conor is hungrier and younger he will win. Think Floyd is motivated only for the cash while Conor is all about the legacy. Can see Conor winning inside 5. Come on the Fighting Irish....

While it's not really a meaningful window into the camps, was struck by the contrast in the two approaches shown in All Access part 2: McGregor in the gym sparring, and Mayweather larking about roller-skating, shopping and hanging out with his strippers. I know he sees it as an easy pay day, but surely his biggest enemy here is complacency.

Floyd should make things interesting by roller skating his way to the ring. Which would be shocking enough. I think he should then go further and keep them on for the fight.

Can we add a countdown clock up n' herre?

Legacy? wtf - he's fighting a retired boxer, and he's doing it for the $$

He gets the head boxed off him - and his "legacy" will be how he has treated people along the way whilst making his money.

I agree. This fight has all the ingredients to be a cracker.

On a separate note...this post has just pipped the "rope a dope Mayweather" as post of the thread.

Not sure it is gullible but good point.
The roller skating footage is weeks old, from before the promos I think.

Beleive none of what you hear and only half of what u see specifically if it relates to selling a fight.

RE the sparring paulie was brought into spar and that was it.that's paulie words.although paulie was willing to offer more if he was asked.and mcG said it was just for a fight, so i guess they didnt want much else from him.then paulie done interviews, which I am not sure why? Was he even getting paid? I don't see what he had to gain.unless he was just trying to get as much publicity as possible, which means he has his own agenda other than helping the camp. But what he said about conor back in December I don't think he was ever going to be welcomed without earning it. So conor replied in kind.note how conor did not use his own twitter to do this.I think that was the intention and conor knew what pics were being posted.

A dose of brain damage would be welcome as I wouldn't have to hear McGregor deliver the bantz anymore.

As are his frequent racist remarks.

I happen to believe every word Paulie has said. The thing is right now it feels like a mystery who's telling the truth, and the bull****ters will be outed Aug 26th.

Any genuine fan of either sport wouldn't make a comment like that.
No one is forcing you to listen to him. You're a disgrace welcoming brain damage on a fighter after what has happened to some boxers over the years.

Disgraceful thing to say. Actual fans of combat sports would be embarrassed by that mentality.

Although, I doubt you are serious given the rascist schtick you're vomiting out too.

Edit: Just seen the "choke to death" post above was also you. That confirms you're trolling, I guess.

I couldn't give a **** which title it was. It's irrelevant to the point I was making. Just because the WBC Welterweight Title he fought for was not the main one, doesn't suddenly justify referring to Paulie now as being a:

Only an idiot would think it would.

Some limbo dancing in here to try and undermine those sparring sessions with Paulie, it's embarrassing lads.....but hardly surprising given that the consensus in here for the past few months has been that Conor wouldn't land a glove on even a good amateur that was trained in the oh so beautiful sweet science.

    hqdefault.jpg

But he is out of shape (he's carrying a huge belly), over the hill (he got beaten for the paper belt) former (he's retired) boxer (he was formerly not retired).

The people making excuses for his racism are likely a little bit racist themselves. Saying someone should be cleaning for him because he's Mexican. "its only banter and Mexico is not a race"

Drunk at 10:30 of a Sunday. It is a bank holiday I suppose.

I certainly wouldn't wish brain damage on Conor, or anyone for that matter. I know more than a few lads personally who had to hang the gloves up due to damage in the ring, one who has it very bad and frequently forgets basic things like the names of his family... People love to see blood and love to see lads bounce off the canvas, that's pretty natural but wishing for severe damage is pretty sick and evil.

Having said that I do hope for a clinic from Floyd and a thorough beating with no long lasting effects. As I said before somewhere, a lesson needs to be taught to Conor and to anyone else who tries to pull this sh*t. I read something this week about Stipe Miocic calling out Anthony Joshua again. Now Floyd may not have the brutal power to inflict severe damage in one blow, but Joshua certainly can and a fight like that has a very good chance of ending in tragedy. An aged Floyd with average power fighting a novice is dangerous too, but a prime HW with shocking power fighting a novice is stuff that should only happen on the Xbox.

So a boxing match would end in tragedy yet he gets shins in to chin and punched with 4oz gloves in mma..

Let's hope whoever is reffing May/Mac lets them work in the clinch.

No chance of that happening. If anything the refs will be extra observant for anything McGregor is doing on the edge or outside the rules.

That's what Mayweather wants you to think. 'He's shopping and rollerskating, while Conor in training'

The more people Floyd can convince that Conor has a shot, The more money he makes.

All that Floyd saying "He's tough"
"I'm not the same fighter I used to be" is all about PPV buys. He's been playing the same game for years.

A dose of brain damage would be welcome as I wouldn't have to hear McGregor deliver the bantz anymore.

Terrible thing to say. I hope both men walk away from the arena in full health.

I only time I get a tinge of jealousy when I see Floyd is when I see him rollerskating in his house. I want those means. I mean I could in the gaf I have but it wouldn't be the same.

I didn't see the same the same level of concern for the overweight journeymen in their forties who were beaten unconscious by Joshua so that the young prospect could "get a few rounds in."

Were he seriously hurt in the fight, at least Miocic's paycheck would go some way towards covering the bills arising when he can't lift a spoon to his mouth. Doubt the same could be said of the hopelessly outmatched boxers thrown to the lions.

    Actually... name even one?

I have a query regarding watching the fight you may know about.
I know that Sky Box Office will be showing the fight, but I'm wondering will it be available to purchase and stream via Sky Box Office online?
I know that they've used this feature already this year for other boxing bouts, and that it is not a requirement to be a Sky Digital customer to use it so surely this option will be available again?

The thing with Malignaggi is exposing the myth behind the fight. The sheer embarrassment it is going to be. I hope no one here is going to pay for this. I believe everything he has said.

There is no myth - everyone already knew what Paulie was saying, well except for those on the MMA forum...

I think its value for money if u know what you are paying for.
