Just reading now that Cooper had a dive. At the time I thought McManus nailed him but no, it was a dive. I wonder will o'rourke be calling him out the way he did McCann or will he be still getting stick for it I'm three years.

Have you a link to it or did you just read about it. To me it looked like Dublin got three handy frees, but Monaghan were lucky with some yellows

D Hughes hit McCaffery on the head
Drew hit Cian O'Sullivan in the face
Not sure about the McManus and Cooper one, I was watching it with about 20 people on sky at half time and nobody mentioned dive it was more about how it was just a slap on the ear.

Monaghan might have coughed up some easy frees, but they spent the game defending poorly, they were lucky not to have someone sent off.

Plus McCarron missed two sitters in the first half too they were finished by half time, couldn't put the ball over the bar and had nobody supporting the attack so they hardly attacked at all, I'm told this was their first attempt at blanket defense this year is that true.?

    Just back.
Monaghan had nothing to offer today in a bad season for them. They were lethargic and dead.
No challenge to Dublin at all, in fact if I were a Dublin fan I would be asking why a team resourced to the degree they are didn't put 20 points on us.

Still not convinced Dub will canter to another AI.

No they just look like they're going through the motions in games. Things are getting stale under O'Rourke i think. It can happen.

Oh well if you dont have confidence in them...I didn't factor that in - relatively bad kerry team it is then.

There's no need to be awkward about it. You disagreed that the current Kerry team were relatively average based on the history and standard in the county, I explained why I personally felt that they were relatively average and vulnerable.

It's great to have a fabulous team on paper, but until they eradicate some of those weaknesses and push on to victories then there is no reason to hold them in massive regard.

Also, nobody called them 'bad' - that was your own addition for dramatic effect.

I can't recall Monaghan doing something spectacular in the championship excluding there two Ulster finals wins in the past 5 seasons.

I think they will drop right back in the near future. They have nothing coming through and have some really average footballers

the way the season is going looks like kerry will only to have to peak for the final . and they will have extra week to prepare and watch dubs v tyrone kick lumps out of each other.unless the winners of mayo v ros can up there performance levels from last sunday to test kerry

Nah Stoner I just read. Was above so didn't see any replays and unless it's on the Sunday game I won't be going out of my way to watch that again.

I really hope there won't be, sick of every incident like this turning into a circus! There has been more time spent talking about discipline and media campaigns against counties/players than football itself.

And God, forbid, if the media do get on the back of Cooper, we will have to endure another 2 months of Dubs fans moaning about everyone being out to get them!!

Cooper knows what he done. If he doesn't care, let him be.

Unfortunately there is not much "football" to talk about.

If you keep saying that it might be true one day.
Plenty of young blood coming through in Monaghan and honest effort. I'm not expecting much of a fall back myself.

There's head contact there, looks like with the arm rather than fist or elbow, and it lands on the back of the head. Doesn't look intentional, but rather a reckless swing.

In saying that, to me, it looks like Cooper makes the most out of it. I'd still think that it's probably a yellow for making any contact with a reckless swing.

EDIT: When I say reckless swing, I mean it turned into a swing, not that he purposefully meant to swing. I think he tried to grab the jersey and push, but lost the grip and followed through.

I don't know anything about this paper thing you're talking about or vulnerabilities that you've conjured up and aren't based on actual games played. Maybe they're imaginary games in your paper world.

I haven't seen them play on paper yet but ive observed them in action on the field of play.

Kerry have been a top team and all ireland winners in the last number of seasons. The addition of a fully fit o donoghue and morley àt centrd bàck make them stronger again thiz year. They are playing with pace and are very well organised and set up. Better balanced than prrviously. They beat dublin quite easily in two matches, four months ago.

To say they are an average team by kerry standards is a ridiculous proposition. No amount of sophistry will change that.

Tackle on Cooper was a yellow

Tackle on McCaffrey was a lucky boy, could have been a red

Cooper should have had a yellow for his thug antics at the start. Probably the player I have least respect for in the country. Nothing short of a gurrier.

In what way will the Super 8 change things?? The only thing I can see it changing is that it will essentially guarantee a Dublin v Kerry final every year as they will both likely top their groups and if they are in the same group, then they will end up meeting in the final anyway!

To make matters worse, Sky will likely have a big say in showing the key super 8 games.

Little bit personal there Francie, towards an amateur sports man.

I really hate the phrase 'there was contact'. Maybe its because the soccer people use it all the time to legitimise diving and all sorts of cowardice.

Anyway Cooper accelerated towards McManus looking for him and he brushed him off. Take away the rolling around on the ground and there's absolutely nothing in it.

I'd book Cooper if i was in charge.

When you start your day thumping your opponents chest repeatedly with your two fists before the ball is even thrown in, I think I am entitled to call him that, amateur or not. No need for that.

Might be in your code of behaviour but it isn't in mine. Prefer good hard football but not that baiting ****e. He'll get his commupence and not to many will care.

Bit of jostling before the throw up?
There's a lot of guriers playing the game so.

Here's Cooper getting an elbow in the head, so I was wrong, wasn't just the arm. Still think Cooper made more of it than he should have, but I'd probably be on the ground too if I got an elbow in the head.

Also, just so we're clear, you'd ignore a player that commits a foul, then ignores your whistle, picks up the ball and runs towards goal, kicks the ball away (thus preventing play from restarting quickly), and when another player goes over to stop him, you'd book the player that ended up on the ground? In my opinion, you'd be a terrible referee.

It was much more than jostling. It was despicable behaviour from a player I have no respect for.

Of course you're gonna see it that way for a player you've no respect for.

Grow up with that nonsense. 99% of GAA fans enjoy both sports.

Fair enough, you don't like the sport, but don't generalise people who do.

    Exactly, he didn't disappoint.
Plenty of fine players out there today, on both teams.

Unfortunately most teams have some really average footballers as guys who are strong, fit and are basically machines who can't kick a ball get picked instead of footballers.

Just the way the game is.

What was the point of Monaghan and Armagh keeping 12/13 behind the ball when 8 points down, have a go FFS. they both accepted defeat after 10/15 mins

You can always tell the lads that never played football. Poor wee lamb ya.

Maybe watch badminton going forward? No physical contact, should suit your sensitive soul.
