I think the +9 is a great bet too.

Anyone else have the feeling that Monaghan haven't shown their true hand yet, and slightly reverted their set-up as soon as they lost to Down in order to be in prime condition for the QF and whoever they face? They have used the depth of their squad well so far, even if two of their wins were against Division Four teams. There's definitely a freshness there as opposed to other teams in the past coming in through the back-door.

I mean, the likes of Drew Wylie and Colin Walshe are due massive performances, and I would not be a bit surprised if the sight of the Dublin jersey on Saturday brings it out in them. Them inside with Ryan Wylie, with Vinnie Corey at centre-back, and Fintan Kelly and Dessie Mone on the wings, looks like a solid enough unit to me. Monaghan have given them decent games over the last couple of years in the League (I know different kettle of fish etc.), and I think it's just the testing game the Dubs need. It's going to be a lot closer than most pundits will call. Give McManus enough support ball up front (McCarron and McCarthy decent options off the bench too), and occupy Duffy on COS, and they aren't without a chance.

I always wonder about these sorts of statements. Like smaller counties seem to be able to catch Kerry and Dublin on the hop" yet Kerry and Dublin aren't capable of doing likewise.

I think we're going to win pulling up.

Has that line up even started this season? Dessie Moan and Vinnie Corey come off the bench. Karl O Connell is playing well but none of their backs have been stellar (goals accepted).

Stopping Dublin would be represent a huge upturn in form imo.

That's my point though. Genuinely feel they have been keeping the powder dry so so speak.

Then again I have had no luck backing against the handicap with Dublin so far this year and may be playing off fumes at this stage :D

If there's going to be a shock tomorrow I think it'll be Armagh beating Tyrone. Everyone is talking up this Tyrone team but their win over Donegal doesn't look as convincing now when you look at Galway beating them and look what happened Galway last weekend.
Armagh have had a couple of decent performances in the qualifiers and the run in Croker last week could be worth a pt or 2 to them when you consider Tyrone haven't played there in this year's Championship.
Think Dublin will have too much for Monaghan but expect they'll only pull away in the last 10/15 mins

Ah but sure you can play that game all day. Look at what we did to Derry and it took Mayo extra time to beat them. Look at what we did to Down and they beat Monaghan.

Just because team a beats team b and then team c beats team a it doesn't mean team c are better than team b.

    This weekend predictions.

    Tyrone to beat Armagh
    Dublin to beat Monaghan
    Tipperary to beat Galway
    Mayo to beat Roscommon.

As much as I would love Roscommon to beat Mayo, I feel last Sunday was a missed opportunity. The 2 early goals put a gloss on an otherwise poor attacking performance. If Roscommon are going to win, they will have to play better than that, A Connaught final level performance is need on Monday,

Statements like "keeping their powder dry" and "not showing their hand" really are daft.

No team is going to intentional go out and play at a lower level just in order to keep some possible future opponent guessing about their true strengths.

If they do then they risk of not meeting that future opponent.

It's usually used when a team wins but totally underperforms in the process.

As long as Connolly Park gets the worst of it we'd get over it.

Anyone got a stream for a person outside of Europe and could work on an iPhone...?

    Stupid Sky.

I was looking forward to these games on RTE- only now do I see they've been pimped out to Sky.

We have an evening of Camogie instead. Both the people who'll actually watch that will be delighted.
