so looking for a new family car with budge above
I have always a saloon so was looking to maybe move to a crossover/suv type
type of driving i do Diesel seems best option
2 kids and id like gadgets

Models i was looking at were
    Sportage -2012-2013, 1.7CRDi - preferred choice,
CMax - does look a little compact and dash terrible
SMax - much better looking than CMax especially inside but maybe over budget
CX-5 - wow looks like a temptation to really stretch the budget

otherwise it stick to a saloon
    i40, Mondeo, Optima, Passat

any thoughts out there or other options i should look at ?

C Max and S Max are MPVs rather than SUVs or Crossovers. S Max imo seems a bit over kill for 2 kids but you could have other uses for the S Max. The Grand C Max is also available if you need a bit more space than the regular C Max but not as big as the S Max.

Sportage and CX-5 are mid size crossovers and will offer extra practically and bit more space but they are still limited in boot space and leg room being based on the compact family segment.
