Video Editing Monitor

Need a new monitor for video editing.

This new monitor is part of a duel screen system and the monitor which displays the video.

24" - 27" max as that is all I have room for (pref 24") and it is for HD only as no 4k used at present.

Budget I suppose up to €250.00.

The choice out there is fantastic but totally confusing for someone who only buys these things once every 5 or so years. I have read that the ones with high (144gz) are the best picture quality......dunno????

Any recommendations appreciated

144Hz is for gaming. You want a 60Hz panel (so you're not paying more for high refresh) and a IPS colour calibrated panel. Going to be tough on the budget but you might get a full HD 24" panel.

What is the difference between the ips and normal monitors?

TN panels aren't quite as good colourwise (especially at an angle) but they generally respond quicker for very high refresh monitors (used for gaming). For video/photo work you want something that will give you the correct colours on screen.

Perfectly fine other than they don't tell you what colour accuracy it has. See if you can find that in reviews and can you borrow a calibration widget?

On a whim???? !!!!!..................I am going boss eyed.........I have been on Amazon all morning looking at every ips monitor !!!:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::(:(:(:(

Not being cheeky here but yes a Dell U3415W. You'll see what I mean about the colour correction although I'm lead to believe the curve is an issue for video production.

I understand and appreciate the advise but I couldnt possibly spend that much on the monitor.........I do value my wedding tackle being intact.:eek:;)

It's more the feature set you're looking for. You can get a 34" UW for €500 secondhand and there are non-curved versions. Usually they're good quality screens too, something to think about if you're spending €250 per screen every few years.
