probably just turn up early at the players entrance unless anyone knows where they are staying

Thanks for this. I've heard they usually stay at Carton house. Just wondering if anyone knows where the players entrance is or if players (Ireland team etc) usually just stroll in or actually stop for pictures etc? Long shot I know!

With Matic I think we have a good squad. Anymore additions should be offset against sales. We dont need a majorly bloated squad. We've a lot of versatile operators now.

Its my 3rd time saying it, but anything other then title challenge or go close in CL will be poor year.

The excuses for me are over. Jose has a season under his belt and I can see the success of winning 2 trophies last season, this has be a title mounting season now.

We have not been close to it since 2013, and for a club of Uniteds stature that is not good enough.

Couldn't agree more. If we are more than 5 points of the winner this year (barring bad injuries) and assuming we don't win any other cups, it will be a very poor season.

Agreed - the title itself will be hard to win, but United need to be properly in the mix this season.

Really, we need to turn those stupid home draws into wins this season. If we do that (and continue results elsewhere for the most part) we should be right amongst it.

As I said last season, with the level of player talent and managerial talent in the league not winning the title is not failure in itself, there is going to be at least one 'big' club that don't even make the top 4, and that might not be because they were crap themselves (though that is the case for Arsenal and United last season).

We need to be heading into May with a realistic path to the title.

I can't imagine the team staying over. I'd imagine it's flight in and out on the same day.
    I'm going the game myself.

Are we any the wiser as to what the Lindelof / Smalling comment was about?

Doubt they will stay over, but they will certainly be at some hotel prior to the game I would think - don't imagine they will go from airport to stadium directly, though they could.

Wish I was going myself - unfortunately some @rsehol3 decided to ruin 3 of my tyres in June/July so €450 went on them, and away from a couple of ticket purchases.

I know it was mentioned yesterday about Klopp and his comments on the Europa league.
Just want to say thanks to Ajax...

    That's surely a fake though?

Lucas could be an interesting signing, whether United would take the punt on him (especially after he rejected us for PSG iirc) I don't know.

Agreed, one of the players I mentioned when we were talking about potential players or left field suggestions in terms of bolstering our right flank, which again looks like it will be Mata, Mhiki,Lingaard which isn't a bad set of options, but Mata doesn't suit that role in a Jose setup, Mhiki is wasted out there when he's so clearly best centrally and Lingaard has no left foot and can't seem to really beat people.

Lucas has been pretty consistent and done well with PSG, for some reason falling out of favour at times. Consistent decent return of goals, assists, chance creation and completed dribbles over the last 3 seasons.

The only rule we need is everyone to set their autocorrect on their phones to Matic. I'm pretty sure we aren't signing Harry Potter.

Speaking of signings, PSG are said to be selling Jese,Di Maria, Lucas,Ben Arfa,Krychowiak,Matuidi along with Aurier to help fund the Neymar deal.
Imagine the meltdown if Jose brought Di Maria back to United.

Woody has a new sponsorship deal with Yale just in case

Out diffing at the crossroads Mitch?:)

I decided not to go up,it'd be more time off work plus I'm headed to Old Trafford 7 weeks later.

If we are putting Matic into dictionaries can we add Lingard too? Lingaard sounds like the PES lovechild Jesse and Anders who is a Danish/English winger/goalkeeper.

Jaysus saw this on FB from Zlats page.

The flash of red made me think it was our jersey for a minute. Had to do a double take :(

Nope, parked out side someone's house on a main road, which they clearly didn't take kindly too. Not that I have ever seen an actual car parked in the spot I have since stopped parking in but god forbid someone parks outside your house!

Unfortunately I have no proof (no CCTV etc) so I just have to suck it up and forget about it.

I now park 100 yards further up the road and have had no issues since.

Pretty sure it's guaranteed he will back with us this season. Mourinho basically confirmed it the other day.

Pretty sure they flew into Oslo yesterday morning and back out straight after the game. Probably do the same with Dublin.

He said something along the lines of "with zlatan missing the start of season" and I think he include him in the list of injuries that were due back too.

I wonder will he be announced before our squad numbers are confirmed. #10 is waiting.

I don't think so I'd say it will be a case of him getting fit and they sit down then.

It was always the rumour that he rejected a contract at end of last season because he didn't wanna sign a contract when he couldn't play his part I think he wants to stay and help the team this year.

    No chance, imo.

To be announced he would have to be under contract. No way United put him under contract until he is actually fit. He'll be a free transfer signing ready from January 1st. Think there is a a period between November and Jan 1st that free transfers can't be registered in either.

I reckon he will continue to rehab, train at United when he is physically able to, and then sign a new contract when he is basically ready to play, or close to it.

No way, imo, we sign him again in the next couple of weeks and then pay him huge sums for just his rehab time over August, September, October and November.

There was a lot of talk that he was considering rejecting it anyway as he wan't sure he would be able to get himself to the level he would want to be at for another full season in the PL.

The fact he will only be fit for half a season, and had a very long rest period (while obviously still training as he can), will actually help him I reckon. A smaller amount of games, a team hopefully not relying on him to start every game. Makes it easier to be physically ready for the games/time he is called upon for.

Yeah the free registration window closes around then so if he got fit ahead of schedule (last I heard he was ahead of schedule). Sticking him on a play to pay deal would be a natural solution. Minimal pay until fit but could be an option when hes ready to play.

Wonder what is the strongest 11 at the moment in the league and how many of our players are in it?

    Contenders:

    De Gea
    Valencia
    Bailly
    Pogba
    Herrera
    Micki
    Lukaku

From what i seen of mkhitaryan in the year since he joined us he is not even close to been one of best in number 10 or right attacking mid I'd prob even put mate ahead of him. The rest tho are a fair shout depending in formations.

agreed. I'm a big fan of mkhitaryan, but there is no way he did enough last season to be considered for a best 11, he had trouble making our 11 sometimes and we finished 6th!
