Nissan Pathfinder loss of acceleration

    Hopefully somebody can help me.
I have a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder with 250,000 miles. I have just had it overhauled and a major smoke issue resolved.
Before and after the overhaul I have had an issue with acceleration post 70mph. The speedo will remain at about 70 and it doesnt matter how hard you press on the accelerator you will get no more revs/speed. If you lift your foot from teh accelerator and press it again you will get some more mph but it will happen again.
It only seems to happen when you get up to 70mph +.
    Has anybody got any ideas?

First thing to try is a hard reset on the ecu. Disconnect the battery, turn the ignition on and of a couple times, then short the positive and negative connectors together (obviously not while connected to the battery). Also the MAF sensor gets dirty so clean it, its on the intake. Could also be the egr valve stuck. I've mine blanked off. have a look here for some good info. http://www.nissan-navara.net/27-technical-assistance-d40/30629-how-investigate-fix-engine-running-issues.html

Thank you for this, I got some MAF cleaner on Saturday but I haven't got to it yet. I will try a system reset tonight and see how we go. I read the links you attached. Thanks again.
