Selling a car worth €20k privately?

    I think I can get more privately selling a car than the dealer is willing to give me.
    What's the best (safest) way to do this?
    I don't want to take any kind of a bank draft in case it subsequently turns out to be dodgy but at the same time I can't see anyone turning up at my house with €20K.

    Any suggestions?

    I sold a car lately for around 26k lately. Buyer did a bank transfer, once the funds hit the account and I confirmed with the bank all was legit the car was gone.

    Another option is to meet them at a bank and have them sort it there.

    Ask the buyer to depose the cash in your bank. He could withdraw the cash only after they decided to buy.
