Matic and Sanches would be a nice pair signed imo, but nothing indicating we want Sanches that I've seen

Yep but there was nothing about falcao before we signed him... i can see at least another 2 signings come in maybe 3

Anyone follow Borthwick-Jackson last season at Wolves? I thought he showed some promise under LVG, but seems to have fallen off the face of the earth

Seems to be talk we are sniffing round Matuidi.

Don't think it worked out - I thought he looked good too but seems to have fallen out of favour - rumours of a move

Those saying that the squad will be stronger minus Fellaini but plus two unproven youths. Carrick also a year older so factor that in.

And in case people have forgotten, we finished 6th last year. We need to be much better than last season, while other clubs are doing more business than we are.

I'm not advocating spending crazy money like city but there is a place in between that and what we are doing.

I hope woody is sorting something out cos if we go into the season as we are, it's not good enough.

" I may be wrong but I dont think a single poster mentioned Dendoncker before this media link gets posted, but suddenly he's the answer to our problems.

Matic will most likely be a Utd player in the next couple of days. Galatasary offered 10m for Fellaini, not sure if it's been accepted

Fellani is a squad player that should be kept. He played some games in the europa league where teams didnt know how to defend against him in the box.
His height/strength in the box helps and he takes a card during a game breaking up play when the team needs it.
We dont have the cover in mid as it is and until a dm and/or replacment is signed we should look knowhere near to selling him

Ye spent more on both Pogba and Lukaku than City have ever spent on a player. You can pretend all you like but ye do spend "crazy money like city". Funny thing is I think we are all guilty of spending crazy money like city this summer

To be fair city have spent the most the last 3 seasons running. And on their 3rd they had to spend nearly 200mil on defence

Edit: 50mil was stones and another for steriling. Lucky if they make their squad next season

But none of us can have excuses

Liverpool Are willing to spend 150 million on two players

United spent about 180 million on two players (albeit in two seasons)

Before this summer United marginally spent more (410 million) than City (408 million) over the last three seasons. Before you think its a dig its not. Liverpool spent 257 million in the same time.

Anyone spending that kinda money has no excuses. Leicester while a one in a million spent 130 million in the same time and won the league. Where is united and Liverpools league??

All this crap about spending big is just an excuse. Ye bought Pogba for almost 100 million and while he showed glimpses of class he hardly set the league alight (albeit his first season to be fair and could yet become a balon dor contender)

Nice argument, cant fault it to be fair

Sky sources: United close to signing matic.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 48,902 ✭✭✭✭Mitch Connor

Loads of places jumping on Matic to United. Not the greatest fan of the move BUT if Jose has identified him as required then I am glad the club are spending what is required to get him. Back the manager and let him live or die by a squad he has purposefully built.

Delighted to get matic in. Knows the league already and exactly the type of player we need

Didnt Jose say something about wanting to reveal something before this match? Could it actually be Matic perhaps?

He isn't in yet. We've heard Matic is close before. Morata too.

Nope it's gonna be joses new line of fragrances, with the first being called the special one.

    No, he didn't.
Yes. He did. Knew my memory wasn't ****e.

"I think we will understand the reason in a couple of days," Mourinho said. "Bailly is suspended for the first two matches (in the Super Cup and Champions League), as you know, and I think in the next couple of days we will have the understanding of why I play Lindelof and Smalling."

This led to the notion of Jones being moved to DM for this match as a test run being discussed in this thread for a bit. But in reality Jose has some trick up his sleeve.

...and what Antonio said about Chelsea needing to avoid a Mourinho season after winning, the other fragrance is being called "Don't be a Conte".

Show me where it says he wants to reveal something? He doesn't. He says we may understand in a couple of days. He says nothing about revealing anything.
