Waiting to order a pint and I hear a couple talking about EP, seems this is their first (40 somethings) god help them.

Is that the wall across from the Salty Dogg?

I think its the toilets in Kinkubreeshire, near Tesco in Stirling, Scotland. :)

Oi, less of the 40 something bashing! I'm going to go ahead and presume they are chilled out, open-minded, musically semi-literates like myself who will walk through those gates with a spirit of adventure and have the weekend of their lives.

They probably couldn't get a baby-sitter for the last 10 years. I feel their pain.

Signed up, half price with the link and that's early bird prices, although the email said €15 prices were in sterling, herself will definitely be glad of them, can't imagine major queues and should be cleaner than outside, well worth it I think

    I turned 40 last December.
This will be my first EP for about 8 years (when did Brian Wilson play?) and first to camp since it was a "bouquet" festival.

No bashing, I'm a 40 something as well, probably right about the babysitter
That's why you should have had kids when you were young.

We should arrange a middle age meet up. Hot cocoa one of the evenings

Once I can get a seat and the music's not too loud.

Tiny Tea Tent for hot Chai. It's the best middle age spot in the festival.

So we're all agreed then? Board meet up across from other voices with tea and scones, no coffee and certainly no jam.

    No jam?! That's a deal-breaker for me I'm afraid

You can exclude jam or whatever else as long as we get to sit around a warm beverage and give out about the young ones

Too much sugar, probably keep us awake all day.

I'll definitely have hot beverages, might even break out the Horlicks.

Have done a bit more research into what acts are playing what days, to update Fatfrogs post some more:

    Friday;
    The XX
London Grammar (In Italy the 3rd, so likey @EP fri)
Run The Jewels (likely as they are in the States on Sunday)
    Vince Staples (Same as RTJ)
Bicep (said on one of their posters on facebook)

    Saturday
    A tribe called quest
    Pete Tong?
    Interpol
    Phoenix
    Madness
    Floating Points
    Everything Everything

    Sunday
    Duran Duran
    Elbow
Chaka Khan (according to FB anyway)
    Rag N Bone Man
    Father John Misty
    Band of Horses
    Soulwax
    Kiasmos
Mano le Tough (likely, playing UK on Sat)
Hannah Wants (likely, playing UK on Sat)

So I am going to guess something along these lines based on what we have so far:

    Main Stage
    Friday: The XX, London Grammar
Saturday: Pete Tong, ATCQ, Phoenix, Madness
Sunday: Duran Duran, Elbow, Chaka Khan, Rag N Bone Man

    Electric Arena
Friday: Run the Jewels, Vince Staples
    Saturday: Interpol
Sunday: Father John Misty, Band of Horses

    Rankins Wood/LBT
Fri: Bicep (usually both these tents are closed on Friday, but after opening for Jenny Greene last year on the Friday maybe they will open it Fri night?)
    Saturday: Floating Points
Sunday: Mano le Tough, Hannah Wants, Soulwax, Kiasmos

Will Pete Tong definitely be on the main stage or is there any possibility of it being in the Electric Arena?

Yeah that all seems pretty realistic but I still think one or two of Interpol, Father John Misty and Run the Jewels could end up on the main stage with someone like Annie Mac headlining EA. Kiasmos in the Rankin Wood tent will be incredible

Soulwax and Mano Le Tough would be much better on the Friday or Saturday

I'm late to the party here but am I right in thinking that Sunday tickets are sold out? Haven't been to EP since the 2nd one in 2005 I think it was. I guess it's changed a lot since then.

would hope Fr John Misty and Band Of Horses both play EA as to avoid any clash

Interpol are doing Turn on the Bright Lights in full on this tour so imagine they'll be headlining the EA. It wouldn't really work on the main stage.

Run the Jewels would be a big enough draw for the main stage and their set would suit it.

Think Mura Masa has a good chance of going on last 12:30am on sat in electric arena, years &a years were on at that time last year.

Peter tong I think would be better in the electric arena also, everyone mentions the post headliner sat dance act on main stage but that no longer exists

I think they've got some great material, but I went to see them at Field Day in 2015 and they were very poor. May have been an off day but the live footage I've seen since leaves me cold. I realise it's all subjective but most hip-hop acts don't work live for me, notable exceptions being Nas at EP last year, The Roots, Public Enemy & a few others.

I *love* RTJ, but I fear I'm much the same as yourself in regards to live hip-hop - it's just somewhat disappointing to hear someone rapping over a DJ.

That said, I think there's a few ways around it - the first is pure theatricality, the second is incorporating live instruments like The Roots, the third is just having a tonne of absolute bangers as your tunes. I feel like RTJ fit well into that last category, and it probably just doesn't come across well in footage at all.
