I'm in discussion with hinault about a topic. It doesn't matter which part of the interweb I happen to locate hurdles for his position. I'm not a mouthpiece for anyone if merely citing scripture.
And it is merely coincidence that immediately after tatranskass posts you asked the same questionss he did?

You had your chance to give your reasons for forwarding his questionns and if you were trying to bring peace between them, you missed your opportunity to be honest. I might be a bit cynical but i don't believe your asking that Q was genuine or sincere. I won't give my opinion on what i think you were doing - out of love for the charter.

But feel free to supply your motivations if you want to...take your time though.

This thread has been brought to my attention by a number of posters and my Co-Moderators.

After almost 200 posts the question of "unquestioning faith" seems to have been sidelined infavour of a childish battle between two sides. At this time I don't care who is "right" or "wrong". All I care about is the amount of my, and other moderators, time being taken up trying to decipher all this carry on and figure out what's what.

    That stops now.

This thread will remain locked because it has served it's purpose and it seems many posters are more intent on taking digs at each other than discussing the content. From this point on there is to be a change in how posters reply to each other.

For a start, there is no need to quote entire posts when replying. The original is there, we can all see it, quoting it in it's entirety is just clogging the thread with duplicate text and making the forum difficult to read for users who may be browsing on the touch site. If you must reply to a specific post, only quote the line or two you are referring to. Nobody rereads the entire quoted passage, so it's pointless and clumsy having it there.

Also personal grudges and gripes have no place in the Forum. It's tedious for other posters and takes from the experience of contributing to a discussion when you have to wade through irrelevant rubbish. And it is childish beyond belief! If a poster wishes to ignore another poster, that's fine. Ignore them. But if the same poster is posting on a public forum for all and anyone to see, they can't then complain about a particular poster reading and commenting on their post. Just because a poster is on your ignore list, doesn't mean they are obliged to ignore you.

Also, if posters are aware that a particular poster is on someone's ignore list then DO NOT bring those posts to the attention of that poster. That is defeating the purpose of ignoring them. All posters have an equal right to post and comment and reply to whatever is posted so long as they do not breach the charter.

From now on posters who flag such posts to be seen by the poster using the ignore feature will be carded or banned, and it will be incremental.

If posters are seen to be taking childish swipes at other posters while offering nothing to the discussion they will also receive incremental cards and bans.

If posters cannot post in the Forum in a way that respects all users they will receive incremental cards and bans.

Not everybody will agree all the time. Especially when it comes to discussing religion. But you can respectfully disagree or your posting rights to the forum will be removed.

I suggest everyone has a read of The Forum Charter before posting in this forum again to remind yourselves of what is expected. If you feel you cannot post within the guidelines then I suggest you refrain from posting until such a time as you feel able to contribute in a more constructive way.
