    Hi all

Would anyone know a Ford Mechanic or ideally an any EXPERT in Ford diesel cars in Cork city?

I have a 09 Ford Focus 122k on clock diesel and within the past 2/3 weeks the car is chugging/jerking in all gears between 1200-1500 RPM

I've the fuel tank full and tried dipetane and a service and the problem is still there

When I go above 1500RPM or change gear the chugging stops

I've spent hours reading other forums and hundreds of people have had the same people but amazingly nobody seems to know the exact solution or how to fix it

People are changing injectors , values sensors and nobody seems to know (from what I can find anyway)

I know f all about cars so hopefully someone out there has experienced this issue and can help or put me in contact with a top mechanic ?

    Cheers all

The first thing I'd check is the fuel pressure live data via a diagnostic reader to see if its fuel pressure related.

Then I'd check the EGR valve. (Needs to be removed for inspection and the diagnostic reader can open/close it remotely )

Sound like the egr valve is stuck/blocked.
I'm pretty sure the egr valve kicks in at those revs that's why its jerking. Mine did the exact same.
Cheapest way to fix is just blank it off.
Beat way to find out is stick a code reader in.

As above, a quick run of the diagnostic codes will give you a good first insight.

The mk 2 focuses had a issue with the windscreen washers not being properly sealed, resulting in water leaking into undesirable areas of the engine bay. I think they fixed it in later models so probably won't be an issue here, but only take 2 mins to check. I'm not familiar with the diesels but on the petrols it seaps in under the coils and pools at the spark plugs, obviously won't be the same on yours but see what lines up under the washers and where potential water could run to.
