So....I would love to pretend there is a better story to this than me getting distracted and scraping a pillar but there isn't, that's what happened.
So, what's my best option for repairing this?
It's not just a surface scrape the plastic is actually a bit damaged?
Car is a BMW E60 colour is British Racing Green.
    Bring it to the pros?

Won't let me upload a pic for some reason......
    ..will do when I can

The only way to get it fixed properly is to bring it to the pro's. But it won't cost as much as you might think for a decent job. Budget 250-300 for a refinish / respray.

You could faff around with touch up paint yourself but it'll never look right, especially if the plastic is gouged a bit.

How can you live with the alloys in that condition?!

I personally wouldn't car much about the bumper, but there seems to be a mark on the panel. That might start rusting - and this needs attention.

I can live with them alright but they could do with a refurb to be sure.

Small scratch on the panel just above the bumper scratch that I will have looked at too. Point taken about the rust. I will get bumper repaired though it does take the look off the car. Pretty good shape apart from that

Yeah that'll need a pro job to get it right. I've been there before and a good place will have it good as new for < €300.

It doesn't look like the paint is breached to bare metal so it shouldn't start rusting but id still get it fixed.
