I wouldn't want to be following any other team
    They just never give up
    Never make it easy mind
    But never give up

Ok fresh in the mind .

    Positives
    - we survived .we won
    - low wife's count .( still laughing at my predictive text) you know what I mean here . Wides
    - no injuries .
    - cork as we knew were a good side who fielded a better team this weekend .
    - subscdis have an impact . Esp Durcan.

    - negatives
    - Higgins is not a sweeper . We are way too open and have not corrected it yet.
-management changes cost our lads dearly in full time . Who knows how much that drain will take out of them next week.
    - cafferky will be roasted if we make the semis .
    -
    - looking back quite a few of our big players were not at their top . Mclaughlin, keegan and diarmud . They had good games we will need more .

We play the sheep in Dublin.

    Roscommon next weekend I think

If Galway win, it will be Kerry v Galway and Roscommon v Mayo. If Donegal were to win somehow, it would be a draw to decide pairings.

I fear for Mayo if they meet a team which even masquerades as quality. Cork are a very bad side.

I would doubt that even if he plays that card to the media.

This is a man managing the Connacht champions that was rejected for the Mayo job!

Personally I would find it hard to prepare a team to go out and try and beat my own county.
But I suppose he knew the probability of that happening when he took the job

Indeed. But I think Roscommon will do a number on this Mayo team.
This team had its chances to win AIs and blew it.
Only McStay could have delivered an AI for Mayo but that ship has sailed.

Totally agree.Kevin McStay and Liam McHale are great Mayo GAA men and servants to the cause down through the years.

Of course they'll do whatever is necessary but I'm sure there'll be some mixed emotions

Management not good enough. Where was Boland today? Evan Regan a mess of a player, the modern day Enda Varley. Any other job he would be fired.

I don't even know where to begin but I'm just glad we survived.

Defensively we were a shambles, there were some decent individual performances in the first half.Brendan Harrison and Chris Barrett in particular.

I hate to say it but Ger Cafferkey must be dropped,he was at times left very isolated by Keith Higgins who left far too much space in front of the full back.Nonetheless O Connor gave Ger a horrid time. Our defensive frailties will cost us dearly against Roscommon or ultimately Kerry.A remarkable improvement defensively to compete.

Kudos to David Clarke, another great day at the office.

Crazy how impressive at times we were offensively, Cillian O Connor and Aidan O Shea were our stand out performers. We missed some guilt edged goal chances... Conor Loftus on the double. Andy Moran and Keith Higgins had options rather than taking their points.

I find it mystifying how on earth we can be coasting and complacency or an inclination to sit back sets in.

I found little fault in Stephen Rochford's decision to take off Seamie O Shea who I thought has had better days. All the switches were made relatively early but our bench is relatively strong and I've an expectation that the likes of Stephen Coen and Paddy Durcan,Shane Nally are able replacements.

Special mention to Donie Vaughan who was exceptional when introduced,he certainly helped greatly to steady the ship.

The best that can be said is yet again we got over the line, kind of glad we're not facing Kerry now in the quarter final next week.Perish the thought.

Hopefully the lads will rest up for the week after their exertions and be better ready for their trip to Croker like us all!

Great to see the Connacht teams left in championship however long that lasts.

Unfortunately Evan Regan just doesn't seem to have the quality necessary for this level,I don't like saying that.Maybe I'll be proven wrong and be delighted to be so proven.

Agree with all of the above
Donie was super when he came on

Higgins was awful defensively again today

Wonder why mcloughlin as sweeper has been completely abandoned

We need to do something quick as we are being opened game after game .......

We would be dead and buried without Aidan and Cillian
    Lucky to have them

I wonder what impact the games played so far will have on this match. Mayo have 5 games played compared to 2 for Roscommon. Roscommon have youth pace and energy on their side, Mayo have experience and physicality.

Roscommon are also unlikely to run out of gas like Derry and Clare did. If they can replicate their performance from the connacht final, they are a serious danger for Mayo
