There should be a record crowd for an intermediate match before that of course.

    10,749 in attendance apparently tonight.

After being at the match tonight I can't help but feel a bit disappointed.. Sure, the stadium looks very nice but it's just so basic? I don't know what I was expecting to be honest, but the interior is so bland, with so few facilities..

Maybe it'll feel different this weekend with the big games but right now I don't really see what the point was in building this new stadium..

Some honour for young Cork senior Chris O Leary getting the first score in the new Pairc. Nice thing to have on your sport CV. Should never have been the first game though. Glen/CIT should would have been perfectly suitable for it.

Just realised that they don't even have a TV screen in a stadium built in 2017, that's very poor in fairness.

Did I see somewhere it's on the way?

Think you're just confusing it with the Ed Sheeran lyrics which will be belted out there next summer :pac:

Didn't get a chance to go. Talked to a lad at work who's diehard Glen fan and he said they were pretty brutal. Seemed a close game but Glen should be putting away a CIT team missing some star intercounty players and suspensions too I heard.

Still, current champions, a club with such deep history as the Glen playing one of the college teams in a senior club game. Would attract a huge crowd even midweek. I've heard Glen are fuming over getting the snub.

They will have a screen there in 2018 but they should really have two;one at both ends of the ground. They are fairly cheap to buy these days I'd say.

Does anybody in Cork give a s###e about the football game in Limerick on Saturday evening?
Cork may be below par at the moment but there are still some big game players and this is a winnable game.
i'm at a loss as to why there is so little talk about it on this thread.
Kerry were excellent in Killarney, but to be fair they could do that to virtually any team in the country, bar Dublin,on any given day.

I'm actually quite looking forward to the match on Saturday, Cork-Mayo is an attractive fixture and at least the Mayo crowd will bring a bit of atmosphere. I doubt our footballers will fear them. Should be a good game, think we could scrape it if we play to our potential, however misguided that opinion might be..

What are your opinions on Colm O'Neill lads? Have the injuries caught up with him? He doesn't seem half the player he was a few years ago, quite a shame.

All the talk has been about the páirc, but yeah, I'm really looking forward to us giving it a lash against a mayo team that are beatable.
We have the players and the fact that it's last chance saloon will surely benefit us. If we play to our strengths we are well capable of causing an upset.

I expect Mayo to win but I fancy Cork to give them a relatively stern test.

Thing with Mayo is, they've been playing top tier games for the past number of years, with Cork in the doldrums somewhat, I expect that to be the difference if the match is close - Mayo should pull away.

Cork also got back to within 3 points of Kerry in Killarney but needed to push from there - Kerry emptied a much stronger bench and pulled away. That's why I think Healy with a somewhat limited panel needs to have a starting team that can keep the pace and try to keep a few players in reserve to spring from the bench and provide Cork with some impetus to push on - I doubt I'll see this happen with Healy is the thing but I could be wrong we'll see.

Sadly this is the same setup and team that struggled to beat Waterford and scored one ............yes, one point in the first half against Tipp, playing at home and WITH the wind. I can't fathom how anybody can give this team a chance against probably the 2nd best team on this Island?
They have no chance of winning this match or any other match until Peadar and his band of bluffers ride off into the sunset.
    I don't believe in miracles.

**** it its Mayo. Christ are we going to stoop so low as think we need a miracle to beat them.

They are worthy favourites and I reckon they will beat us but im hating this sense of no hope against a team like Mayo. Dublin and Kerry fair enough, but Mayo?

They aint nothing special, never have been for 65 years

About time Barry O Driscoll is getting a start. Pretty close to the best team there. Still don't see how Colm O Driscoll is still being picked though.

Happy with that team and o Connor oneill and Hurley on the bench are good options to make an impact.

I really think if they go out and have a right but off mayo that they have a chance as I think mayo are very beatable, but it all depends on how cork approach the game.

In the Mayo thead they're saying they're nervous. I know it might be cynical but I can't help but laugh.

Weirdly enough, the pressure is on Mayo as they are expected to win handily.

I am hoping for some kind of performance at least from the footballers. Not much can be expected though as they have been woeful so far.

If they can somehow channel the feel good factor from the hurling side and win then they might get their own feel good vibe going. One recent form that looks highly unlikely but we live in hope! :D

Not cynical at all, if you saw how we played against Derry for 70 minutes and Clare for 35 minutes you would be nervous too
