Anyone here have any experience or heard tell of anyone using (diluted) seawater as a fertiliser or as a foliar feed?

Just thought i'd throw it out here to sea what comes back.

Google and the net says if anyone uses it, to just use it once per year.
Seemingly some people use it on grassland in New Zealand.

An older neighbour who has marsh land outside the banks of the river Shannon, that floods with sea water at very high tides, was saying that the quality of the grazing has gone down big time compared to years ago. He couldn't understand why.
Doesn't answer your question, but just an observation.
