They are meaningless but there was no short of effort between Wright and Gurney in the 1/4 final and MvG took
great pleasure in whitewashing Gerwyn Price. Gurney is a good player and the fact that he has a bit of attitude
helps to spice things up and the PDC need that. At 5-3 up the other day though he fell apart hardly hitting a treble
in the next 3 legs as MvG turned it around without having to do much.

I would have to disagree,they are not in any way meaningless, those guys who qualified got to play the big boys on a big stage, fulfill a dream, encourage others to stick at it,gurney will get huge confidence from it I imagine, ask him if its meaningless .. darts needs to look after the whole circut,not just the top 32 . I love these comps tbh.. now I know of 'awesome dawson' ,he can play.. it's great

If a new player wins one and beats the top players then in sure we will see him again cause you need to be very talented to beat the top players and a huge stepping stone in there career and also the purse prize helps a new playsr massively.

Prize money was surprisingly terrible for the US leg.
£20K for winner, so basically the same as winning a tour event without the ranking boost.

There was definitely plenty of effort from the players in the matches I saw.
It mightn't have the prestiege of established ranking tournaments but they all
wanted to win it. Players like Price and Gurney are trying to put themselves on
the map, Wright is trying to compete with MvG and and MvG gives everything
against whoever he's playing.

Mvg is unreal,even playing a non top player he cruises along and if hes put under any pressure he can easily average over 100 just to eradicate hes lesser opponent.some talent that boy is hot hot hot property.

Could be an even tougher draw for Wright! Cadby doesn't seem to fear anyone but this might be just youth and inexperience. Very exciting prospect.

Just watched Wright v Cadby...deserved to win. Wright was out of sorts and Cadby threw a few stray ones
but fair result. With Wright on a finish and two darts in his hand Cadby on 66 went T10 D18 when there isn't
a player on the tour who wouldn't have gone for 16 Bull. That's the kind of thing that makes him interesting.

Good games, wins for Kyle Anderson and Taylor by 10-9 over Whitlock and RVB. Slightly easier wins for Cadby and Wade who both averaged 100. Semi Finals are KAnderson v Wade, and Cadby v Taylor

Taylor is one horrible specimen of a human.
Personally I can’t wait to see the back of him. If that was any other player carrying on like that on stage the DRA would be handing out big fines. But he gets away with it time and time again.

Gurney vs Anderson: Great close knit game, Anderson will be livid with himself after that poor start. 14 missed chances at doubles before netting his first, a horrid first leg from him which he had sown up. Gurney coming on leaps and bounds.

Taylor vs Cadby: Another great game. Cadby should have made it two straight wins, lost his concentration at 8-6 up. If Cadby keeps this form up, he should be able make a mark come the worlds.

Brighton seems to be the one dropped for Berlin.

When Brighton was introduced in the 2007 Darts PL it was one of the biggest venues they'd used up to then and was the location of Finals night.

You'd have to subscribe to PDC.tv for a good quality stream. Only 4 quid a month worth it. No minimum subscription so you can order for 1 month. Couple of Euro tours and floor tournaments coming up this month.
