    I know.
I guess the series never really grabbed me, even in its Star Wars and Indy iterations.
I might look for a trade for PuyoPuyo

"Japan's Nintendo Switch lines are hell"

Going by what's being said elsewhere, it's getting easier to find a Switch in the US. Not so in its home country

    Is it motion control only?

Yes it's great, no, it's not motion controls only. :)

For those who say there are no Switch ads on TV, watch more Alvin and the Chipmunks on Pop! Every ad break there's 12Switch or Mariokart

No, you can use a multitude of control options, including roughing it in two player with a Joycon each.
But, without the motion features switched on you do lose some control over the "projectiles" in the game.

Recieved the pro controller this morning from Amazon using a gift card. Would say I can't wait to use it but I don't have a switch yet, I had one a few months ago but sold it as I had no time to use it
Haven't the time to go into town to pick one up so waiting for ones to show up on Amazon. If I pay for one will they ship it when they are in stock???

Splatoon 2 reviews are coming in!
Splatoon 2 is just about everything you could ask for from a sequel. It builds on everything the original set up and then some; almost every single major issue people had with the first game has been resolved, showing that Nintendo is genuinely listening and wants to deliver the absolute best experience possible. It maintains the freshness you’d expect and throws in countless big and small changes and additions, every one of them for the better. Anyone who says Nintendo can’t do online should be eating their words right now; Splatoon 2 is simply inkredible and continues Nintendo's trailblazing first year of Switch stunners.

Y'all need to come stay a while; swim with the locals; become familiar with the brands, weapons, rites, and rituals that make this kaleidoscopic world turn. If you're willing to do that, then I think you'll find that Splatoon 2 offers a competitive and cooperative escape unlike any game you've ever played. It's a chromatic, multicolored masterpiece, and a sensory rush worth indulging in.

    http://comicbook.com/gaming/2017/07/18/splatoon-2-nintendo-switch-review-more-than-a-refresh/

There is so much here to enjoy and with the promise of additional content and support and regular events to play online, this is something that you are going to be playing for some time. I’ve been playing my Switch non-stop since March, but I’ve probably played this more in the last week than I’ve played anything else.

I have not been able to put it down, except to recharge the Switch’s battery. It’s so simple, but so effective, and simply dripping with that Nintendo charm. Essential for all Switch owners, shooter fans and people that just love to have fun. It’s got your multiplayer needs covered.

    http://switchplayer.net/2017/07/18/splatoon-2-review/

Splatoon 2 retains a fun factor that holds tight even after many hours of action, only this time is loaded with content from the start. And the waves of new updates on the horizon will ensure a bloated player base for months to come.

    http://www.cheatcc.com/switch/rev/splatoon2review2.html

Splatoon 2 recaptures every moment of enjoyment of the original while finding room to add even more. Whether it’s the challenging single player or the revitalized multiplayer, Splatoon 2 does a phenomenal job at making itself more than a minor upgrade. Those who never got the chance to play Splatoon will absolutely want to pick the second up to see just how impressive Nintendo’s ink-tastic multiplayer shooter really is. Whether a kid or a squid, Splatoon 2 is an incredibly enjoyable title that will hopefully continue to ink its way through more titles for years to come.

    http://wegotthiscovered.com/gaming/splatoon-2-review/

Splatoon 2 is just an easy game to like. It’s bright, cheery, and employs endless tricks in a constant quest to make you smile. It shouldn’t be cool — this is from Nintendo which, as much as we love it, is about as “cool” as a magician at a kid’s birthday party. It also stars anthropomorphic squids who say things like, “Don’t get cooked, stay off the hook.”

But Splatoon 2 is cool (at least as cool as a 30-year-old gaming journalist like me is allowed to deem it). It never feels insincere or pandering. Even though it’s a sequel that carries over a lot from the original, it still feels fresh.

    http://www.hardcoregamer.com/2017/07/18/review-splatoon-2/265355/

Even with its odd design decisions, I have no doubt that Splatoon 2 will win newcomers and veterans over. There are still a few things I’m weary of (mainly, the soon-to-be-released Online App), but Nintendo has managed to fine tune and polish the formula that won us over all those two years ago. And don’t let the “shooter” label dismay you; while there’s a definite focus on traditional gunplay, Splatoon 2’s unique take on ‘painting’ is better than ever, and it should be sampled by every Switch owner out there.

    https://venturebeat.com/2017/07/18/splatoon-2-review-still-fresh-on-the-switch/

DESPITE SOME ONLINE STUMBLES, SPLATOON 2 IS PRETTY FRESH
What the first Splatoon did well is still built into the sequel’s barnacle-encrusted DNA, and now it’s on a system that you can stuff in your bag or play on the couch. It’s baffling that Splatoon 2’s best feature is held back by a frustrating lack of proper online support, and in many ways, it’s the same game with some new tricks. But there are still enough imaginative additions for anyone who played the first game to death, especially via its strange, captivating supporting cast. It may be much more of the same, but the same is still pretty fresh.

    https://www.polygon.com/2017/7/18/15989698/splatoon-2-review

If you're the type of person who tried Splatoon for a little while and gave up, Nintendo hasn't done a whole lot to change your mind outside of adding a horde mode. But with more concessions for higher-level play and a deeper meta, veterans will be jumping ship from Wii U to Switch in an instant. Here's hoping that Splatoon 2 gets even more long-term support and Salmon Run is free of the shackles of a "once in a while" event for those of you who don't have multiple Switches at your disposal.

    I'd say there's no doubt.
Plus, as the user base continues to expand, there'll be reason enough to bring perhaps a purpose made Assassin's Creed title to the device.

The 'Nintendo Switch Online' app is now up on the Google Play Store. Can't link your Nintendo account yet because the servers aren't up and running.

If it's any way like the psp or vita ones they can keep if.

There is nothing to suggest that a Switch version will be anything like the Vita/PSP games.

But then, if you're considering titles moving to unconventional formats, GTA Chinatown Wars is a great example of a traditionally home console title having a tailor made game developed for the DS and PSP and succeeding, despite comparative limitations with the PS3/360 and between both the DS and PSP for that matter.

Even the Ezio collection would work well since it's basically last gen.

No pirate ship though. That was what I loved about Black Flag. Stabbing whales and stealing ships.

The voice app is live now if anyone is interested in logging in to check it out.

Edit - So after going through the app, if you want to invite friends in Splatoon 2 you create a lobby on the Switch in game then invite people through the app on your phone into the lobby you just created on the console itself? That's a bit ridiculous really.

The screen has to remain awake for voice chat to work as well which is also crappy.

As I was saying the vita and pap games where very poor. I bought both at full price digital to make it worse when they came out and both times i was not a fan at all.

The vita game was a poor man's add creed where the tiny world and basic gameplay did not help it at all and this is what I would kind of expect to see on the switch from Ubisoft something like that creed wise.

But a box set of the 2 and the other 2 games could work if they scale stuff down as they won't fit the 3 games one cart me thinks if I am not mistaken it's like 40gb on the ps4.

The new version origins not a hope that will run on the switch as if you seen the 2 creed games after the great black flag on the ps4 and xbox one both unity and sysacte needed a lot of power to even get the game at 900p 30fps. Unity had to be down graded after it was released to try and fix the mess it was so not a hope I will see the newest ones working on the switch.

I think the switch is going to be a massive success.
I have a mario maker club in the library and they are all aware of the switch and either want one or are getting one. 8-12 year olds.
Last year most haven't a wiiu or even knew what it was but wanted one afterwards.
Seems like the switch is embedding itself into the general consciousness.
Also it pisses me off that little jimmy has a switch and I don't.

If they bring a new Mario Maker to Switch and, heaven forbid, pop in there a Super Mario Kart course maker as well... Wow, the Switch would be a money printing machine.

And include a fastest time online leaderboard!! Things would never be the same.

Mario Kart Maker shouldn't be too hard to implement.

Given they are all flat Mode 7 maps it would be no different than the fabric designer part of Animal Crossing.
