    Mayweather is hot as fook

That was muck and I can see ticket holders not bother show up to the other 3. No fan interaction.

    A farce

How the fcuk does Schaub think McGregor "lost" that press conference? Everything Floyd said fell on deaf ears, he was tame as fcuk.

His "I'm the IRS and imma tax your ass" was the only good line from either of them throughout the thing.

A ****show even worse than expected. Ellerbe is another borderline illiterate moron. Introduced Floyd as "undispeated" ffs.

Floyd got the better insults in for me with the Mr TapOut & talking about how little Conor gets for his fights. Conor looked pi$$ed at the end

I switched off to watch the Dana vlog

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XK7Ww94lXBA

He does warn that the Presser will be a sh*tshow, so they must have seen how bad the production value was in the run up. All of these are sold out, I'd be looking for a refund if I booked in for the Toronto/London leg.

I don't think anyone expected the Press Conference for the 'biggest fight ever' to be THAT bad. I only watched the first half, still confused as to what just happened.

I was fearing that today's presser would be a clusterfck and it was. A shambles.

But I honestly do think some of the next 3 could be great craic when they and the organisers get used to it and learn from mistakes.

I forgot how much of an idiot mayweather is.

If I were boxing him i would be genuinely laughing my ass off at how stupid he sounds.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,752 ✭✭✭johnpatrick81

The only funny bits were McGregor laughing at the T mobile guy and then saying he couldn't hear anything the 2 guys said which might have been a good thing.

Conor was snapping when he was on about the tapper.

It's a comment that has no effect when it comes from someone who would be put to sleep in 15 seconds in a proper fight.

Different story when it comes from MMA fighters admittedly.

A refund on free tickets? I know it's bad but it's not *that* bad haha

    Horrible stuff.

A UFC style presser is needed tomorrow badly.

Conor isn't a speech-maker he bounces off opponents comments. Criminally bad presser.

In hindsight the corporate speech from Buzz Killington the Head of Sports from MGM Casinos was possibly the highlight. Completely underappreciated at the time.

Presser would have been grand if the sound was better....... and, how's this for a concept.... the press were let ask questions.

Why is there a conference in London and not Dublin?

Yeah completely not the point, his verbal jab landed we know this story if Floyd went to mma heard it 10000 times over.

He lives on back and forth. Mayweather doesn't seem the sharpest or wittiest so I guess they cut that out. For a man who loves his money, he could add a few more millions to the ppv if he lets the next ones go more naturally. In fairness it will be interesting what McGregor comes out with now as the whole thing was built to shut him down and give Floyd the final word.

He wasn't joking about the pinstripe. It really does say "F**k you".

Nah it was ****e from beginning to end.

Decent staredown though and Floyd Snr. sneaking up to have a go and get shoved away was mildly amusing.

All the stuff about octagon, four oz gloves etc is just nonsense. The fight is a contacted boxing match at 154 lbs which means 10oz gloves. He gets to say it all he wants as he knows it'll never happen.

    No home cities.

    Because it's not needed.

No audio from the staredown was ridiculous.

No sound bytes for any showreels there.

When people say that McGregor would win in a real fight I find it completely irrelevant. It's like saying Miocic would beat McGregor in a real fight. It doesn't matter.

Anyway the whole thing just shows that Mayweathers side is running this thing completely. He's found an opportunity to make another huge pay day with almost zero risk of losing or taking damage, and he'll get to 50-0. McGregor has found an opportunity to make the biggest pay of his life and keep his fantastic MMA legacy in tact. The UFC has found an opportunity to make a big payday without having to lift a finger. It's a massive win win for all involved, except of course the fans.

This size difference is an exaggeration. The real difference is just one inch in height.

One inch? More like three.... and that's allowing for the baseball cap.

Can't believe how bad it was. Literally not one redeeming factor. Ufc fans really spoiled with basic production value.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,710 ✭✭✭✭Paully D

Free tickets to that setup are still too expensive :pac:

Utter tosh it was and unless things change dramatically over the next few days it will remain that way.

Nearly everyone I have spoken to after it has said it has made them less interested in it going forward.

Cut the bollocks, let them get in each other's faces, allow McGregor's mic to stay on at all times and make everything fair game and hopefully things will spill over a bit.

It'll make it more exciting, generate even more publicility and will ultimately sell even more PPV's.

It is obvious that Conor is very restricted in what he can and can't do up there which takes away from it completely.

He made that clear when he summoned Conor up for the face-off at the end. Conor will get some good insults in over the next few days but can't get around having to stick by Mayweather's rules in the run up to the fight

Floyd currently giving a press conference to journalists on Fox Sports 2. I'm guessing Conor will give one next.

No loss of money yet but I'd say a lot of people feel that was a waste of time even watching. And the there's tickets and PPVs which people will spend a lot of money on, and in my opinion nobody will feel they got any value in the end.
