I cannot see 7.1.2 available for the S7 anywhere.

Ive been running 7.1.2 (Lineage OS 14.1) since I got the phone about a month ago. Anyone else on Lineage OS?

I'd love to but I'm out of contact so my bill is SFA now on S7 edge. Not in a rush to go back to a large monthly bill

I meant official ROMs. There are plenty of custom 7.1.2 ROMs available on XDA etc. I would class lineage as a custom ROM.

Hi,I dont know how to use the chrome extension to unlock extra stats.
    I've attached a screenshot but...

Sorry but you need to take 5 minutes to read the how to guide which is on the Play Store page. Here's the guide: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1r3VlhZIZVSufZlAeICJet6QBtyAF7z06_ysl1kUKME4/edit#slide=id.g123bc9f140_169_19

Anyway, just from looking at your screenshot, you should go to settings - applications. Then find the Google app and disable it.

So I bought a new s7 couple months ago sealed in box blah blah receipt and all from shop in Dublin now it turns out the phone imei has been bared so pretty much no use to me.

The screen is cracked on it from a small drop so donno where or what I can expect from the shop? If It wasn't cracked id be demanding full refund but what can I expect? A shop near home said best i could hope for is the value of phone minus screen?

It-fix they always advertise on adverts.. To be honest I donno if they were aware it looks like someone got it as bil phone and sold it on? It wouldn't show up as been bared until the network had sent loads of letters and cancelled the account. It probably never was stolen.

Best contact them with proof the phone is barred and see what they say?

I bought mine off them too. First one was a brand new replacement from Samsung silver one, wouldn't work with Vodafone but worked every other network! I thought this was very strange. They swapped it out for a brand new black one and no problems so far. I've been abroad too and coverage still good so I know it isn't blacklisted from outside Ireland.

Hope you get it sorted out

I got one as part of changing networks, but the new form factor is a pain to use IMO (and that's coming from someone who has an S6 Edge+, S7 Edge, and Note 1-4 previously) and to be honest, there was nothing "must have" in it. My "old" phones were just as good in real world use I found.

As it turned out the new network fecked up the port leaving me missing calls from my former network for over a week so I cancelled and went elsewhere, returning the phone in the process.

Went back to my S6E+/S7E and not missing the S8 one bit (also reading about increased fragility and screen issues). I would have been interested in the upcoming Note 8, but the ridiculous pricing and same form factor but even bigger has put me right off. I actually think these will be my last Samsung phones if that's the new direction they're going.

Actually got my S7E back yesterday after sending it off for the "pink line" problem. Screen replaced under warranty by Samsung, they reflashed it with stock unbranded firmware (saving me the trouble) and even unlocked it for me... nice!! :D

How easy is it to get a repair through warranty?

When my battery starts to degrade I want to get a new battery put in. A lot of the yanks on Reddit have done this for free through warranty.

I really don't like the edge style of phones, I have a flat S6 and I believe the sound on the speaker is much lower than the S6 so at this rate, I am struggling to find a phone to upgrade to :(

No big deal at all, ear buds in the box are excellent, and there's also a small adapter.

Well in my case I did it through the company account so Totterdells sent me out a repair authorisation, I packed it up and sent it to them on Monday, and it was back with me Friday morning with notes that the screen had been replaced and the software updated.

I'd imagine for a consumer account you'd need to go through your network, or go in-store?

I'm surprised that batteries are being covered unless they have an acknowledged fault? Normally those are "wear and tear" items and not covered.

That would be easy to lose

Just keep them attached to your headphones. If you're always losing headphones as well, then I have no solution :D

The U11 is my second device with no headphone jack, and it doesn't bother me. I have 2 pairs of BT headphones, then use the ones in the box, and the adaptor on occasion. It's not a huge deal.

The one plus 5 is looking like an option for me.. I won't be buying anything major until January but so far the one plus looks nice. I purchased a P8 lite to get me over for 6 months it's not a bad little phone.

The notifications on my galaxy are all messed up. Theyre not disappearing when I view them and push notifications aren't pushing. Anyone had this before.

I can't afford to buy the phone outright and I don't like the colour that Vodafone offered, too bright for me (the Sapphire Blue one) :(

I suffer with migraine and brightness & reflective glare are a major trigger for me. I also am not a fan of HTC phones/software so I may be stuck with the phone I have for quite some time yet lol (not that there is a huge amount wrong with it) :D

i got the battery replaced on my s7 a few months ago by samsung, no questions asked. courier picked it up, brought it to their repair center, brought it back a few days later. didn't cost me a dime, even though i had bought the phone off adverts.ie early last year. all they needed was the serial and IMEI and they were happy to resolve the issue for me. between that, and a factory reset when i got it back, it's good as new, and SOT is back up to 5 hours. delighted :)

was tempted by the s8, but after handling a colleagues one it just felt a bit weird. also, the s7 seems to be built like a tank, so i can see myself replacing it with the same device if the worst ever happens. don't like edge screens, so that seems to rule out new samsung handsets for the next few years.

It's grand. I wish it was more intuitive on some things. Also annoying that my snapchat units are stuck in the US now!
