Would warranty cover an oil leak from the turbo?

    Would it cover an oil leak from the turbo? I bought a santa fe from second hand car dealer, after a few days i got a smell of burning and when I looked up under it i saw oil dripping from the turbo down onto the exhaust, and also at 80kmh the transmission was slipping /not catching 5th gear. phoned dealers and their"mechanic" was on holidays for 2 weeks. After this i brought it back and they fixed the oil leak and spun me a bull **** story about the transmission was fine but it needs a driveshaft that i would have to replace. I know its not a driveshaft problem. But now the oil leak is back after 1 week. They obviously didn't fix it and now he says oil leak isnt covered by warranty. I know myself its the turbo thats on the way out.

    There's warranty and then there's consumer rights. If the car is leaking oil onto the exhaust, it's unsafe and therefore not of merchantable quality. This is clearly a preexisting fault.
    I would push for a refund as the car was not fit for retail sale.
