There's an upgraded version of the Honor 6x phone out now with 4GB RAM / 64GB storage at a good price on Amazon.it & .de.

Standard price is 299 Euro. I got mine via Amazon.it @ 245 Euro but at present Amazon.de have it @ 235 Euro.. It's a lot of phone for the money running Android 7 after a OTA update. It has the new Huawei EMUI 5.0 launcher which is much improved over EMUI 4.0.

However no Gorilla glass and comes with a European charger. Otherwise I think it's steal. The standard Honor 6x is 3Gb RAM/ 32Gb Storage - £225/€260 on Amazon.co.uk.

One day delivery is only available to the UK for 12 Euro - so use Parcel Motel/Wizard/Connect.

Delivery to Ireland is standard and slow... I cancelled the order to here as
it still hadn't shipped after 5 days and used NI instead.

Model is BLN-L21 - which is EU model and as far as I know supports band 20.

Price increased in Germany by the look of it. Amazon.it still good.
(Ironically my purchase on Amazon.it shipped from Spain....)

Would this be a good buy out of the box without doing any of the upgrades or changes you talking about? I'm looking fora good middle of the road Android, €200ish budget.

In my opinion yes - it's a good middle of the road Android phone for the money. Just no Gorilla glass - has a plastic screen protector fitted.

I use it on Meteor and get 4G no problem in the cities. Can't say if it definitely has band 20 for 4G in rural areas but I believe it does according to this.

My old phone had band 20 and I didn't get 4G with Meteor in rural areas before either....

The difference is basically 3 GB vs 4 GB RAM and 32 GB vs 64 GB storage. My missus has the 3Gb / 32GB version and it flies. Other than that they are identical.
