Maybe this is the afterlife? Maybe this is the pre-life?

No. I didn't exist. I exist. I'll cease to exist.

Is this just fantasy? Caught in a landslide...

Yes, I believe in an afterlife.

    It's called death.

    To quote Jim..

I don't know how many you people believe in astrology
    Yeah, that's right, that's right, baby, I, I am a Sagittarius
The most philosophical of all the signs
But anyway, I don't believe in it

I think it's a bunch of bull****, myself
But I tell you this, man, I tell you this
I don't know what's gonna happen, man, but I wanna have
My kicks before the whole **** house goes up in flames alright

I don't believe in an afterlife, I think I'll die and there will be nothing. It would be more comforting to believe in an afterlife but I guess I won't care when I'm dead.

But when your dead and there is just nothing won't you be wishing there was something because nothing is terribly dull and boring.

I like the idea of it. Alas, probably the best book I've ever read on any topic is still Ernest Becker's Pulitzer Prize-winning Denial of Death. It's brilliant, inspired, insightful on this topic.

Will be like a switch going off. Don't think my telly thinks of what wonderful things it could be showing when I unplug if for the night.

    Final. Nothing after.
It's really hard to conceive, but I kinda find it comforting in a way.
I mean comforting in the sense that you wouldn't be stuck in a hellish place, or in a state/life you possibly don't like.

As an atheist I don't believe in God or any religious nonsense So I don't think there is a bearded man in the heavens regulating the universe... But I've seen several ghosts over the years, So It's possible that the life force of a living being leaves the body upon death... The pagans believed the veil between this life and the afterlife is incredibly thin, and can break at times allowing the living to catch a a fleeting glimpse of something the defies rational explanation...

He's saying he won't be "wishing" anything, or finding anything "dull and boring." He's saying he won't exist.

After the show is the after party. And after the party is the hotel lobby. Was R Kelly using that as a metaphor for limbo?

An afterlife? I dunno, probably not. The notion of eternal life horrifies me though.

I would describe myself as a theist. I believe in God, but I don't think we are that high on the priorities. It's like a big chicken laying an egg. We're a germ on the egg. Regarding an afterlife, it depends on the intricacies of the universe that we do not understand yet. I can't see there being an afterlife for good behaviour

I don't believe there is, but I'm not happy about it, because I don't like the idea of not existing, and not knowing what happens after I go. Nevertheless, I believe that if you want to know what life after death is like, think back to what it was like before you were born.

I find it strange that you are atheist and don't believe in God but believe in ghosts.

I don't find that strange at all. Ghosts involve much less of an imaginational stretch than a God who can create an entire universe and watch everyone individually all the time, and who has a plan that can be discerned from the chaos and cruelty we see all around us.

Yeah but doesn't atheist mean non-believer ... you're not an atheist if you believe in ghosts, afterlife, etc.

    They're both bonkers imo

Not true. An atheist is simply someone who denies the existence of god: a-theist.

It doesn't by itself entail the denial of the supernatural.

We are in the matrix, maybe we only escape it through death and enter the after life, life after the matrix.
