Condiering moving home office but would need to squeeze it - opinions on pracitcality

    Hi All
    Hopeing I can get a few unbiased opinions... I've attached a very primitive sketch to try and clarify a little...

    I've a little woodframe, shiplap clad, home office (4m wide as i look at the back of the house, 3 m deep). It has a pointed steel roof that looks like fake slates. Internal dimensions are 2.7m * 3.7 metres

    My garden is L-shaped because of an alley running along the side and back of the garden. I'd like to move it it down to the the furthest point and would need to re-orient the other way with the narrowest side facing the house. I'd need to cut maybe 50 cm off the width on order to fit intop the space I have available
    I'd need to remove the windows on each side maybe, certainly on the lane side and replace the house facing wall with french doors or something

    So my question is, is it viable to "squeeze" and reconfigure my existing woodframe office like this or would it be more cost effective to start again - I hate to waste a perfectly good office but I don't want to try an move the world to do it.

    Also any thoughts on what such a thing might cost to do (if practicable) would be most welcome

    If you are doing it yourself it might be cost effective. Will removing the 50cm affect the roof structure? If it was me I would start again from scratch. Try to sell the existing to recoup some money.

    What happens to rain running off the roof? It sounds as though it will be channeled into the space between the wall and the shed, which will rot the shed and if the wall is part of a building could create a damp situation there. I think there would be more re-shaping than you anticipate and it would turn out to be a major job, and at best will look unsatisfactory when done.

    Thanks for the comments. I have a guy coming round at some stage to give me a price. There'll be a lot of fluting about to be done to get it all sorted out so maybe it's not going to be worth my while - we shall see.
    AS for the gutters, my 50cm includes gutters inside my boundaries on both sides - I think!
