Pat James doing a lot of Rory Gallagher tonight seeing as it's almost his anniversary. Shows the class PJ has - bet none of the other DJs will do anything like it

Yes. Rory is such a hero, fair play to Pat.

Has anyone heard the rumour that Nikki Hayes might be joining Marty on Morning Glory? If true, it would be interesting.

I hadn't heard it but she's not someone I'd associate with a rock station - she spent most of her career on Spin and 2FM.

Believe it or not Marty used to be on SPIN as well.

It's beginning to look like the bastard offspring of 2FM and Today FM :(

This petition to get Nova nationwide on FM. Will the BAI take any notice of it? I would love to see it go on the national FM band but I would hate to think that all the people who signed the petition were wasting their time and getting their hopes up only to see the BAI ignore it!

There's insufficient room on the band for another FM national station.

The bai don't go around handing out national licences to existing local stations based on petitions, If an new national licence was to be awarded (highly unlikely) there would have to be an open tender process in which anyone could apply.

Lots of gaps on the fm band here in Sligo as I'm sure there is elsewhere!

The country doesnt need yet another pop station like Nova anyways........:P

They used to say there was no space for anything but RTE Radio back in the 80s..........

Space could be found to cover most areas - after all Spirit seems to have no problems finding Space.

If Nova is to become a 'national' service it will most likely be on the 4FM frequencies imho

Newstalk was issued a "quasi-national" licence due to the lack available nationwide spectrum.

Where is this petition? It's not actually being run by Nova, is it?

I doubt they would want a proper national licence anyway. Maybe a multi-city one, but trying to cover the whole country is escalating cost for diminishing return.

The band is emptier in certain parts of the country for a reason.

Who presents "Seriously Addictive Sunday" or is it just automated music?

Think they are having some problems with their robots today - lots of cut outs and blanks.

That doesn't answer my question. Is there a presenter on before John Clarke on Sunday mornings, or just automated music.

Before John Clarke is a repeat of Steve Downes I thought?

Sorry - I normally crash out while Steve Downes is on early morning and then alarm wakes me for JC.

But before SD comes on on Sun morning, the DJ has to be a robot! I have a fairly good grip of Gaelic but maybe Track O'Brianon is Nu-Gaelic for robotic dj.

One of their old schedules lists him as presenting the Sunday breakfast show, but the current schedule doesn't. I never get to listen at that time but on Nova.ie it lists a "Seriously Addictive Sunday" before JC but doesn't mention a presenter. As far as I know Traic O'Braonain is a real person, he is in charge of Radio Ri Ra.

Serious question, is Pat Courtenay a p!sstake character in the same way Alan Partridge is? Surely he must be!! He uses the same type of 'funny' sound effects that Partridge does, he repeats the same unfunny jokes ad nausem multiple times per show and on a daily basis (his constant reference to Varadker as Blackadder was never funny and hasn't gotten any funnier) and he has an affected 'radio' voice. Surely this can't be genuine, surely!! I do like his music for the most part though so that's why I listen.

No - the one they do later that Sunday evening. I normally hear the beginning on the morning broadcast and the rest of it in the evening.
