putting on fertiliser in this warm weather

    I still have to put fertiliser (18-6-12) on 2 paddocks of my grazing ground.

    Is there any point doing it now in this warm weather

    No rain forecast before Friday if it arrives. My thinking on fertlizer is if using CAN or NPK fertlizer where the N is in CAN form if you need it you should be spreading it. The rain will come at some stage

    I put out a ton of 18-6-12 yesterday. Hopefully it'll rain. As lads say it's never too far away. Grass is getting tight and it's no good to me in the bags!

    Spread away, I'd say. Once there is enough moisture to dissolve the fertiliser, it will be picked up by the plant and boost growth.

    If there was a soil moisture deficit with the ground dry and close to cracking open, I would hold off till closer to rain but I'd be spreading away at the minute.

    I spread sulfacan the other day on paddocks we cut silage off. Grass has definitely taken up the nitrogen
