Do you enjoy the heat?

With all this lovely hot weather around, do you actually enjoy it or are you looking forward to the return of the grey and miserable.

Personally, I love it, long may it last

Edit: I'm including sunshine/ good weather.

But if you could guarantee a week or two of this every year, you might not go abroad. Such lovely places in this country to see.

If I'm prepared for it, absolutely.

Need a hat for my head, my sunnies, and light clothing. Sitting outside in hot weather but in the shade is one of life's pleasures. Best of both worlds. Al fresco but in the shade. Eating outdoors is better again. I'd eat outdoors for every meal if I could.

The odd rainy day - preferably on a Tuesday - is good too, keep the grass nice and green. Then back to sun. One can dream.

A bit of heat gets all the pigeon walking skangers out to Costa Del Dun Laoghaire with their flaggins and Celtic jersey off and tucket into the Dublin GAA shorts.

So no, fcuk the heat.

Not the heat, but just that it makes more outdoor activities possible. Not a fan of the sun beating down, but a day at the beach is good etc.

I wish we could have a sustained spell of good weather. Then the beauty spots wouldn't be completely thronged like they are on our sporadic good days.

It was nice in Galway but there has been a persistent breeze hanging around thats cold enough, once we can get someone to remove the wind the better.

It's the season for my family to nag me constantly to sit outside "even just to sit in the shade" even though they know hot days give me really bad headaches and dizziness no matter whereabouts in the garden I am, and for me to have to keep my curtains shut from 6pm onwards so the sun isn't shining straight into my eyes on my bed or sofa. Nope, not a big fan. I'm perfectly happy sitting inside and not melting.
Not that I love it being constantly gloomy or anything; I just hate the heat.

I went to the DSPCA Petfest today. Burgers, cones, cute doggies, gorgeous views, amazing weather. A perfect sunny day activity. What more could one want? I think the heat might have been a bit tough on the dogs - I doubt they were expecting the weather to be this good - but they had baths set up all over the place for them and a sprinkler system under a big tree where they could cool down.

In my area a little bit of heat gets the skimpily dressed out drinking prosecco.

A bit of sunshine is ok, but I don't enjoy the humidity at all. Especially during the night. As long as we don't have an extended "heat wave" I'm happy enough.

I like it when it is sunny and about 22 or 23 degrees. Once it gets beyond that I feel the heat a bit.
Once I was in Death Valley and it was registered as the hottest place on earth that day. 48 degrees. It was a bit humid too.

Today isn't really all that humid. Well, looking at it, it's varying a lot around the country. In Dublin, where I am, it's currently 41% which is grrrraaand. 92% in Belmullet though and many values in between at other stations around the country.

It's so damn hot. Milk was a bad choice.

Luckily I spent the afternoon in the garden with the extended family drinking cider and barbecuing. I'll put the kids to bed now and break out a nice whiskey. What's not to like?

? Humidity would he very unusual there.

Yes I love heat. I grew up in the west of Ireland where in my youth I never became accustomed to heat, as there never was any.

I moved to a country that had consistently good summers and then moved to a country that had extremely hot summers up to 40 degrees Celsius. What happens is your body acclimates to the increased temperate and you simply get 'used to it'. And ever since I got 'used to it' - I love it.

For me there is noting better than wearing light clothing and sunshine which means one is more inclined to spend time outdoors instead of being stuck indoors.

I am not a fan of anything over 20 Celsius. Just can't deal well with it. Sticky. Sweaty. Ugh.

Have to go to Spain with work during the week and it's forecasting 37. That's gonna get rough.

Try sitting in front of it. Where the air flow is. Probably more comfortable too.

There was another thread about the miserable Irish weather and how nice it would be to have sunshine and warmth all the time or at least most of the time (the thread "Why Ireland sucks" or such like).

Now it's warm and lovely and what do I read? It's too hot - can't stand the heat. It's not even hot!

It's just one day of summery weather so far and already the moaning and complaing starts.

The Irish have a very conflicting relationship with the weather ... :rolleyes:

I enjoy it, and our boards weatherman predicts cautiously a scorching July and maybe August. Bring it on!

People always seem happier when it's sunny, I definitely am. I'm not a huge fan of heat like today but I won't complain too much. Made the most of it and will do the same tomorrow
